Take your computer to the next level
The Game Max Onyx is a high quality, premium finish PC case with a great aesthetic and a look that will take over any room. The case comes with tinted tempered glass side panels, which give you a full look at what is going on inside the PC as light from your components shines through. This a great way to show off your top end graphics card or impressive water cooling setup. The case also includes three 120mm front panel RGB fans which are great for keeping your system cool. These fans can be controlled without the need for any software as there are hardware controls built into the case. Change the colour of your case fans on the fly without having to step away from the action!

What is tempered glass?
Tempered glass is a new type of glass that is used in the side panels of PC cases as well as having many other uses. Compared to ordinary glass it is up to four times stronger, and not as easy to shatter under pressure. A benefit of tempered glass is that it can be easily cut to size, for example the side panels in the Game Max Onyx PC case are cut so that you receive a full view of what is going on inside your PC. Using tempered glass can make your PC look more high end, while at the same time making it more rugged as it harder to scratch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Large case with some issues I bought this case for my gaming pc. I am running a Asrock 970 pro R.2 and I am cooling my cpu with a coolermaster liquid pro 240. As I was reading the item description it stated that it could handle a 240mm rad so I bought it with high hopes. However when I put my system in the case I noticed that the radiator was conflicting with my motherboard. It would fit just the rad but no fans. This meant I was running a passive rad on a high end system. After a few minutes my rig was majorly thermal throttling so I had to improvise and put the fans on top of the case. This worked as my cpu now was running at a lower temp of 0*c. Caution if you are looking for a case with a thicker rad as it may conflict with your motherboard or dim slots. I would say a max depth of 15mm for a rad and a fan to fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took a while but i sorted it Case is overall, beautiful looking, nice design, the glass is high quality and dark tinted but not too much, good balance. Pros plenty of storage options, cable options, gpu mounting space is perfect as i have an asus strix 1080 (long card) Cons cant mount radiator to the front as the airflow is really low cant mount radiator to top (certain motherboards) as it may interfere with motherboard cooling included fans are molex with a dedicated controller and 6pin connectors -------------------- my current build in it is a gtx1080, ryzen1600X (oc), 2 x 1tb hard drives, 1 nvme drive and a full atx mobo, 2 Static pressure fans on front intake (helps with the low airflow) cpu cooling is with a corsair h55i mounted to the rear. For comparison, i wiggled a 360 radiator to the front with 3 fans and cpu was on 50 at idle. Currently on 33 idle. slapped a few halos in for colour and its all good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking but not very practical You cannot mount a radiator and fan at the top of the case. It just won't fit as there is insufficient clearance between the fans/radiator and the motherboard. The only other location for a 240/360mm radiator is at the front, however it may not fit due to wiring and buttons from the top panel poking through. I managed to get a 240mm radiator to fit on the bottom 2 of the front fans. However, none of the front led fans provide a tacho, so there is no speed control for your water cooled cpu/gpu! The case is otherwise well designed and looks very good especially for the price. Cable layout, tie -down points and cable glands are provided. It is good value. There is an included led fan controller mounted behind the motherboard, it has two speeds and you need to take the side panel off to change this - not very practical, but you can change the pretty colours from the top. I am now modifying one of the led fans to solder in an extra tacho wire, all DC brushless fans have this capability, but it is not wired in since there are already another 4 wires for the leds. It's a good case, especially for the money, but I do think it is form over function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case for a very neat looking installation A great little case with a power supply enclosure with lots of cable routing which makes it very easy to achieve a very clean looking installation. With plenty of drive bay options and nice simple RGB control this case is excellent value for money!

Bought this case but the RGB/Fan connector inside is 4 pin molex female and my Corsair power supply (quite rightly) only has 4 pin molex female options. How do you connect the female to female molex connectors? Cant find a male-male convertor anywhere.

Asked by: JB42
Never mind, did some checking and the molex is double ended (female/male), all sorted now.

What is the maximum length of ATX motherboard this case will take?

Asked by: Chancey
The very definition of an ATX motherboard means it complies to a predetermined standard. Dimensions of a standard ATX board are 12 × 9.6 in (305 × 244 mm)

What pin are the fans are they 3 pin or 4 pin

Asked by: Shadow
The fans themselves should have 3 pin connectors. It is worth noting that the case has a box in which all fans are connected at the front of the case.

Do you do a complete assembly bundle for this unit mother board chip etc etc for this unit and the cost including delivery

Asked by: Harry
To clarify Maplin sell Pre built PCs We also sell all of the components required for you to build a PC yourself. Delivery is available with both of these options. A service where you can select bespoke components for a PC, have them assembled, and the finished item delivered to you is not currently available from Maplin but it is a service we may introduce in the future.
