Product overview

A low level filter to isolate the ground between the car stereo and amplifier, to prevent car ignition noise and earth-loop hums.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have an IPhone 4 with the TomTom in car kit and when it is connected to the in car charger (which it has to be to work) and to my AUX IN on my stereo (Mazda RX8) there was a terrible buzzing noise and small amount of alternator whine. it was more noticeable when there was a small pause in-between tracks on the iPhone. put this ground loop isolator in an it cleared it straight away, background noise COMPLETELY gone only the audio from the iPhone, perfect! from my 'googling' this seems to be is a common problem when trying to charge the iPhone/iPod and listen to music through your aux in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We purchased this product to stop noise we were getting through our PA System from our laptop. It cut out the noise completely and all in all is a great bit of kit well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used between a laptop and PA system as the laptop PSU was adding horrendus noise to the system. Fine when using the battery but as soon as it was pluged in there was awful noise. Two seconds to fit this and it works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have an HTC mobile phone, connected to an aftermarket aux-in adaptor in my Ford car. Whenever the phone was plugged in to a cigarette lighter charger, all sorts of noise was added to the audio - mobile phone signal clicks, buzzing from the engine, and more buzzing whenever the touch screen was used. Adding this ground loop isolator into the connection has completely removed that noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spent far too long trying to earth-bond pieces of equipment together to eliminate the mother of all hums when all I needed was one of these. Placement between turntable and mixer didn't work, despite the TT being the source of the loop. It had to go between mixer and amp. I now have the cleanest sound I've ever heard through a DJ mixer (it's a high quality Ecler unit). Thanks Maplin!

Can you confirm that isolation is achieved by means of transformers in this product? If not, how is isolation achieved?

Asked by: ChristopherM
I've taken one of these apart, each line is wired through a transformer. 2 transformers are used inside this item.

I'm running an audio interface to studio monitors RCA outputs with an annoying buzz/hum, will this eliminate the hum noise? Gold plated RCA cables unbalanced connections don't seem to be doing the job.

Asked by: Slor
This should help stop the interference however without knowing what is causing it we cannot guarantee it will solve the problem.

I have a (non HD) Sony Bravia connected to a Humax for freesat. Unlike before when the TV was using a old fashioned aerial, there is now a annoying hum from the TV present even when the volume is turned off. It's definitely from the TV not the Humax. Will this gadget help?
Asked by: Terry Smyth
This should help that.
