Rated 3 out of 5 by from This tool works well and does what it says on the pack. I haven't yet tried the recording facility yet. My criticism is that the flexible wand is not flexible enough for my use (examining inlet and exhaust valves). In the twisting sense you have to twist the whole unit which makes it difficult to keep the screen upright. The last 5cm of the wand behind the camera is completely rigid and so you must use the mirror attachment in a confined space which is not ideal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works ok does it's job. However be aware when buying a microSD card, do not invest in a Class 10, it won't switch on, used Class 4 & it worked ok.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Found that neither Windows Media Player nor Realplayer would play a .avi file recorded on the SD card. I converted the file to .mp4 using Freemake Video convertor and could then view it OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As an electrician this tool has already earned more than it cost - and I've only used it twice. The job was to install two extra sockets in a customer's large entrance hallway - without damaging any plaster on the plaster boarded walls and without lifting the floor above. Firstly I used the strong hook attachment to guide my cable-feeding rods through a 17mm hole. With the rod successfully in place, the new cable then followed with ease. The next socket was requested where a pipe-boxing was directly behind it in the next room. A metre away from the pipe boxing in the next room was an existing socket. I fed the new cable into the boxing (fashioning a loop on the cable using an inner-core beforehand). I then used the camera with the hook extension to go from the existing socket, behind a two feet of plasterboard, into the boxing. There I managed to hook on to the loop on the cable, then pulled it through. Without this tool I would've had to damage the plaster, meaning more costs for the customer (re-plastering or patching, decorating/touching up). __Quality of picture__ Between 1cm and 5cm = Very clear (5/5) Between 5cm and 10cm = Clear (4 to 4.5/5) Between 10cm and 20cm = Fairly clear but starting to lose focus over 15cm (3 to 3.5/5) Over 20cm and it starts to become out of focus, but the picture is still decent enough to see outlines of large objects. __LED__ The LED brightness is adjustable. The lower setting allows for close up viewing without any blinding glare. The LED on full brightness allowed me to see about 20cm away in total darkness. __Strength of "hose"__ The hose is rigid enough to stay straight when held horizontally. It holds its shape very well, when bent into a specific shape, allowing corners to be turned easily, etc. __Quality of attachments__ The attachments are very strong. The hook was strong enough to keep a grip on the loop I made on the cable earlier (but it's weak enough to allow a sharp pull incase it gets stuck on something). The magnet managed to lift my DVD player onto it's side (but if you can drop a DVD player down a hole, you'll be able to get your hand in!) __Attachment clips__ The one problem I see occurring is the hinge part of the clip breaking over time. The attachments clip into a groove in the camera head, and are very secure - but I think the thin area of plastic that allows the clip to "hinge" will eventually give way. Overall I rate this tool 5 stars. I am very impressed with it. My customer was certainly happy at not having to patch up any holes. It saved me time, made me money and saved my customer time and money. It's paid for itself already!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item Wanted to locate a water leak in the kitchen. Used the camera to pin point the area. Saved me loads of time and effort as the plumbing was behind the cupboard backboards. Cut away the exact area where the leaking joint was. Perfect. Easy to set up. 4 batteries switch on - off you go. Works well in very dark places ! Highly recommended.

Could you please clarify the type and reference of the Memory Card required? The link in the Maplin reply to one of the questions is to a Type 10 device, yet one of the customer Reviews reports a problem with a Type 10 card and states Type 4 was needed?

Asked by: Peter
Type's are card speeds, as type 4 is the minimum needed higher card types should work fine.

Would this work in a drainage pipe or plumbing? Do you stock any items with longer cord lengths for this purpose?
