What can I do with this kit?
Have fun playing with friends or test yourself against the computer with this funky game of two-player table tennis – which comes with a retro arcade look complete with coin slot and controller knobs. The display screen consists of 120 individual LEDs to show the bats and balls. Alter your speed and opponent using the starting position of the bats, and check the score displayed on the screen. Get up to 10 hours of gaming from three AA batteries (not included Order Code L43AL).

What can I learn from this kit?
Gaming has come a long way since the arcades of the 1970s, but with this kit you can travel back in time and create your own coin activated arcade game. The game uses 120 LEDs to show you the bats and balls moving, and the ATmega8 microcontroller informs which LEDs are lit to give the impression of movement. Practice your soldering and see how the components fit together to create a circuit using knobs as control devices. This kit requires a soldering iron, solders and wire cutter (not included).

Where can I go with this?
The kit comes with its own housing to keep your kit protected. Alternatively, you could build your own enclosure for a truly unique project. For those who are looking to expand their kit, the board comes with eight free ports and contacts – which allow you to reprogram the microcontroller. This is not recommended for those unfamiliar with microcontrollers.
