This 350-piece robot kit has been designed to give you an insight into how cranks and gears can be used to move objects around. Based upon the principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics the Hexbug VEX Robotics Robotic Arm gives you a hands-on learning experience while having fun.

Manually control your production line
Using a system of gears and crank shafts you can pick up and move objects using the Hexbug VEX Robotics Robotic arm. The arm can extend out to 10 inches and raising up by 14 inches using two control knobs located on either side of the robot. Watch in awe as a system of gears turn a simple twisting movement into an action that lets you reach out and grab your desired object. A third crank controls the clamping action of the claw, letting you be as delicate as you like with the claw grip. The whole arm can also rotate up to 360 degrees so you can perfectly line up your arm before you grab.

Step by step guidance
The VEX Robotics Robotic Arm features step-by-step illustrated instructions to help you in building your own robotic arm. Each step is clearly detailed so you know exactly where each piece fits and how the components interact with each other. The design of each piece uses snap together pins to form a solid construction without the need for any tools or glue and can be disassembled with ease. The gearing system in this robotic arm is manually powered so there is no need for any batteries. You are also given the option of building two additional constructions using the parts provided once you have built the arm.
