About this product

Overview

Product overview

• 0.3 megapixel camera with live video feed straight to the remote control
• Without a permit, the legal range for a drone to fly is below 120m and always in the line of sight from the operator
• Check out The Drone Code or The IAA (ROI) for everything you need to be aware of when flying your drone
• Six-axis flight control system with adjustable gyro sensitivity, allowing you to fly with sharper corners
• 30 minutes charge time, allowing you to get back to flying in next to no time
• Four night time LEDs and rubber feet so you can still fly at night and protect your quadcopter when landing
• Lightweight enough to fly indoors without fear of damage to your valuables
• USB charging so you can charge on the go with a power bank

What makes this quadcopter different from the others?
This quadcopter comes with a six-axis flight control system which allows for even sharper turns compared to three-axis drones on the market. The drone also fully charges up from flat in 30 minutes compared to the hour and a half that bigger drones take. This gives you a fast charging, sharp cornering quadcopter that anyone can enjoy.

What sort of performance can I expect to see?
The 380mAh battery will last up to 9 minutes and has a 30 minute charge time. This allows you to get back in the action quicker. The drone has a maximum speed of 1.5m/s in all directions which allows you to follow the action without the drone racing off. All this gives you a drone that is perfect for all experience levels.

Safe flying is your responsibility
We fully encourage safe and responsible flying. We recommend you read the CAA’s/IAA’s website and The Drone Code for full information on safe and responsible flying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Balanced and Robust. Purchased after Xmas 2014. I've had 6 months or so with this model so feel able to give a good account of owning one. X4 FPV. From box to flying took 30 minutes (that was cell charging time, it's more like 40 minutes) not a problem. I fixed this by buying 6 more cells and a couple of extra chargers. I decided very quickly that this is going to be my hobby from now on so equipping came natural. It is very twitchy at first so fractional thumb movements please. Practice by hovering gently until you find the zone of control for yourself. If you max the throttle, it will just shoot straight up over a 300 feet in seconds !! It works both inside and outdoors really well, not in windy weather though. For 1st timers it can appear very fast, just keep practising landing and hovering well and the rest just falls into place. I bought a knock about Hubsan X4 standard so I could hone my skills without wrecking my FPV. I'm a ham fisted ape and managed to learn flying very quickly. Don't look at the Transmitter Screen system until you can calmly fly about or it will confuse your orientation and crash. I speak with authority on crashing. But these are well built and have built in "crumple zones" so to speak. Grass is by far the best training area. To get going quickly first time, Absorb the manual but stick to simple steps at first. Take off, gentle side to side, forward backward and landings (this is where the real skill comes in) then go for filming and cool selfies. It's worth it. I've spent quite a bit now (In total- £280 which is small money for a bona fide hobby) There are always at least 3 cells on charge as I fly. Spare blades, motors etc but I have a lot of kit for that cash and can fly for an hour if I choose (and I do). Keep your pets away, the rotors can hurt if hit. Just be gentle and aware. I've noticed a general improvement in my day to day co ordination too, remember, you are in 3 dimensional space and you have to learn counter rotational awareness for when the Copter turns to face you, you have to think backwards to keep the Quad in position. To sum up. It's worth the money, it takes a short time to learn, the rewards are amazing (the picture quality is fine to, it records well) Remember too !! Your computer might not be able to play the recorded material, Windows couldn't, but the free down load software is easy fast and good. A link is supplied with the Hubsan. This is all my opinion of course, some will hate it, some might get a defective one even. That's life, Maplins are cool about it and returns are simple. Go for it ! Redman
