The Hubsan H501S comes with an improved camera that is able to record in full high definition (1920p x 1080p) at 30 frames per second (fps). This drone can reach speeds of up to 45mph with no wind and is also capable of flying for longer, up to 20 minutes, compared to the previous version’s seven minutes. If you want a drone that is faster, can fly for longer and comes equipped with a better camera for your aerial photography and videos, this is the perfect choice for you.
Would this be good for a beginner?
The presence of four channels on this quadcopter provides greater manoeuvrability, and thanks to the two different flight modes you can be sure to master the quadcopter in no time at all. Under ‘normal mode’, the quadcopter is fast and responsive, although greater performance and manoeuvrability is experienced under ‘expert mode’. When ‘expert mode’ is activated, you are also able to perform left, right, forward and back flips – providing you with even more enjoyment.
What do the extra modes do for me?
This drone comes with two great ‘extra’ modes. One is the 'follow me' mode. Once the altitude and distance is set, the drone follows you and leaves you free to pan and tilt the camera for the perfect shot. This mode provides you with a personal pilot that is ideal for capturing shots with you in them.
The second extra mode is the 'automatic return function'. This is great for anyone, no matter their experience. This mode returns the drone to its starting point and lands it for you, which is great for new flyers who may not be ready to land the drone yet. Furthermore, this mode helps you to see the drone when you have lost sight of it and automatically activates when the controller’s signal is lost.
