Rated 5 out of 5 by from Latest firmware makes this as good if not better than a TiVo 3 tuners, record up to 4 channels and watch a fifth. Don't think so TiVo. Full catch up built-in. 7 day back and 7 day forwards. Connect to your NAS wirelessly, view your multimedia pictures, music etc. Watch live TV on your phone, tablet via the Humax apps while someone watches another channel on the TV. Watch your recordings in SD on your phone tablet , not HD sadly due to dchp protection, but who cares for FREE! while again someone watches TV or even watches their recordings. Copy recordings to an attached USB HDD and view them with VLC free for PC. Sure it's not youview but it has more tuners and that alone means less chance of failed recordings and clashes. Catch up is seamless and had a brilliant search function, again can be controlled via apps on phone or tablet with the remote control app, live TV app, media player app. The EPG is not as smooth as some humax hardware, but it's a niggle that can be overcome by sorting channels into named folders. IE, SD, HD, films, documentaries. Then access them by small or large EPG and pressing '+' stops endless scrolling. No issues with an indoor Ariel, all tuners reading 97-100% strength and 100% quality. Wirelessly connected to virgin hub. The remote is also not the same as pictures on the internet and is completely remodeled and smooth, with dedicated buttons for freeview play, on demand, Netflix, TV guide, recordings. 2 year warranty is also a plus. Very, very pleased after 24 years with a well known cable company and will now save a small fortune!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really pleased with this item. This box was really easy to set up. It took five mins to grab the channels and connect to the wifi. I can record much more than my old box and it's connected to my netfix account which is a bargain! Only down side is it's not that easy to find the program information (guide, OK, right, OK) but apart from that, I can't fault it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost great Have used this unit for several months and it performs well but has two problems. The first is that there is no power up the aerial cable to power a preamplifier. A minor annoyance, but could have been easily included. A much bigger problem, and the reason for only three stars is that the unit uses the same remote control unit commands as the manufacturer's Freesat box. Any command issued to the Freeview box has the same effect on the Freesat box - very, very annoying! Have had to resort to draping one with a newspaper to stop it responding to the other remote control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expats, having the Humax has completely streamlined the way we enjoy TV in the UK. It’s perfect for rainy days where we want to stay in and binge on the best shows. It’s great to have access to both our new favorite British shows but also check-in with the classics from the U.S. too. Easy set-up and works great with our current TV!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ex Freesat Bought a flat where comunial Satellite hs only one cable, hence cannot record. The FVP-4000T Freeview is the answer to a prayer. Now the wife can record. ONE PROBLEM NOW..... a few times all goes dead. Possibly the HDMI cable. Anyone experienced a similar problem ?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have failed t0 make it work sofar. 1) The user manual is in such small print that I will have to reprint it. 2) Why does it need a lan connection whe my 2 existing ones (Goodmans) having scart conectors don't need that? 3) As delivered the TV would not even function with its own rc. because the centre connector 1 (RF in) was oversize and the TV cable centre pin did not make any contact! ( easily fixed, but I wasted several hours before I dicovered thisbyvisualinspection!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT waste your money Bought this piece of rubbish a few months ago. After 2 weeks it wouldn't switch on, you couldn't go into your recordings. Continually having to pull power cord out to restart. What an absolute pup. I beg you, save your cash & don't buy. Been forced to give it 1 star. Only because it wouldn't let you post a review if you didn't. Deserves a big fat zero.

The product states that you can access BBC I player and itvplayer but a review says that wifi is not available on this product. Can I assume that it will need to be connected by an Ethernet cable or would it support a wifi dongle?

Asked by: Jayne
The product is both hard wired and wireless. Your choice, simple.
