Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased of Christchurch Purchased the ICECRYPT S32OOCCIHD to replace an existing Sat receiver that "died". Found the Sat box easty to install, easy to use and very satisfied with this replacement and all it's functions. The only critism I have, and have seen written somewhere else, is that the pictures in the User's manual are very, very poor. Need a magnyfing glass to see/read the writing etc on the pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased this on the 27th for my own Christmas gift ( decided better to buy after the day as would possibly get shot if I vanished for few hours setting it up). The delay was my best decision as I'm not exactly a great Manual reader or follower... Started to wire set it up at 2pm.. using manual I admit as I was clueless and at 5pm as there was guests here I waved the white flag gave up failed.. didn't touch it till 1pm today on 28th .... manual firmly placed out of reach ( one step from the dustbin ) reconnected it ... played around blindly for 30minutes now have over 1600 channels of only two satellite's so far... Firstly not only have I more channels, also even on the non HD channels it seems to have increased the picture quality.. Slammed a stick in to test the PVR simple and excellent.. went online done updates with out problem.. cant fault the product in any way at all and I know it will take me a while to get to grips with all of its functions ( or even find them ) as long as you don't read the manual. I'm sure you will love this product I would give 7 stars to it so far if I could..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Box One of the greatest Xmas presents I have purchased for myself... Sadly one of the worst manuals I have ever seen, Saying that GF calls a typical male or TM in her language, I normally never open the manual but as the remote was in the same bag I had to.. after ten minutes I binned it after 30 minutes I have over 1500 channels and in process of putting them into order..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Picture quality I have recently purchased this box and have connected it to my normal sky dish. The picture quality is poor in SD and HD when compared to a Sky Box. It will do for what I want and that is to watch BBC, ITV etc in Portugal where those channels are not available via SKY. If you want picture quality to match that of a SKY Box then I would consider something else. Unfortunately its not until its in use that you find these things out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good but . . . I found this box easy to setup without using the User's Manual which is not very clear in both illustration pictures and text. It took an absolute age to search for channels and when found most are not accessable without a card. It's possible to sort the channels automatically, sorting the unavailable channels to the end but still what is left is jumbled up so much it takes an age to sort into your favorites. This is made even more difficult due to the sorting of favorites being on another screen which still includes the unavailable but this time with no indication of being such. I experimented with a USB hard drive which worked well and allowed the playing of movies and music but then when reattaching the hard drive back to my computer the Satellite box had altered the file system effectivly write protecting the folders denying access and only allowing access from the satellite box. Fortunately for me I have the software to recover but for most it would be a total unrecoverable disaster. It also has an annoying habit of switching itself off for no reason, also on one occasion the remote stopped functioning and the only way I could regain control was to completely turn off via the switch on the back of the box and reboot. I couldn't get the Ethernet connection to work, no matter what settings I tried and even if I had I'm not convinced it would be of much use bar downloading updates and viewing You Tube. So overall, I can't fault the picture and sound quality which is excellent as is the option to add further satellites and the facility to record programs but I would'nt recommend it the novice who just wants to play and play, its program sorting facility is just too complicated.

Does the unit pick up Spanish channels Chilean ?

Asked by: Jimb
The unit itself will decode any free-to-air satellite signals. Which signals they are will depend on what the Satellite dish is aligned for and the strength of that signal.

Hi - I have an Icecrypt S3200CCIHD which I use for Eutelsat & Astra. Do I need an external hard drive if I wish to record programmes from this? If so which do you recommend or is it better to get a receiver with a built in hard drive? If so - which one?

Asked by: Flower
This does have the option to use an external USB drive as a recording device for programmes. Depending on the capacity you are looking for you may be able to use USB flash drives effectively, for more storage we would recommend a mains powered hard drive as the USB might not output enough power for a portable drive.

Can this unit drive a Jaeger motorised tripod mount? Doe's it have a go to...x command/option? Is it compatible with motorised tripod mounts?

Asked by: Allan
This unit has DiSEqC 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 support. If the motorised mount is compatible with DiSEqC control this should be fine. There is no mention in the manual of 'Go To X' specifically so we cannot guarantee this functionality.
