Why limit yourself to just 150 channels?
With an Icecrypt Free To Air Satellite receiver not only can you receive over 500 Free channels on Astra 2 (used for Sky UK and Freesat) but if your dish is pointed at one of the many other satellites, or you have a motorised set up, the only limitation is the number of channels a receiver can store. Set Timers or use the One Touch Record feature to store your favourite programmes onto an external hard drive. Take the recordings with you to play back on any device which reads .TS (Transport Stream) files such as a PC, Laptop or Media Player. Use the USB port(s) to playback your media files, music and view photos on your TV. Move, Delete and Rename channels without restriction. Organise your channels into Favourite Groups, Sort Alphabetically or Lock Channels with a Parental Block. Enjoy, where broadcast, a full 7 day Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) to choose what you want to watch (please note that this receiver does not pick up the Sky UK or Freesat EPG as these are not standard DVB). If you can’t find something you want to watch on Free-To-Air you can always upgrade to Pay TV (a compatible card and subscription is required, available separately). In addition the STC3250CCIHD also allows you to connect a Terrestrial antenna and watch Standard Definition and High Definition programmes from your aerial.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Icecrypt S3250 Just brought an icecrpyt S3250 and very happy with my product as it does exactly what it says on the tin! I found this box very easy to set up and by doing an auto was the best way to get started . once channel scan had completed they were all over the place but with great help from the icecrypt support group have now put all channels in the correct position by using the wireless dongle and connecting to a FTA setting in the internet menu I can upgrade to latest software and a channel list.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible piece of kit. I bought this when I moved into a new house and didn't require Sky but previous owner had the dish installed so used this reciever for it. Positives+ Small, large menus, HDMI output Negatives- Takes a long time to setup, no streaming from other devices supported (don't fancy plugging USB sticks into my set-top everytime I want to watch something), no online manuals, no storage (sold separately), to get other channels you apparently need a motorized satellite (not worth the cost), wireless unable to pick up router. All in all a rather old school receiver with nothing going for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed Qualities Piture quality is excellent from dish an ariel, sound quality reliant on the TV speakers. So far so good, it could be a Good Receiver but is spoilt by a number of anomilies! After innumerable attemps I've given up on the Freeview Tuner, for some reason it decides to put CBBC CITV and a number of other video, especially HD channels into the radio menun though it applies the correct channel number. Editing the channel lists is tedious due to the fact that there is no video image on screen whilst you edit the list. Unless one writes down the channel names one wishes to keep, or eliminate great care is needed because the receiver may switch to "all satterlites" and wrong channel selected. All in all a great shame. Someone needs to provide an updated version of the firmware / software, if that is possible.

Can the unit drive a Jaeger motorised mount. does it have a go to.....x command/option. Is it compatible with a motorised tripod mount.

Asked by: Allan
This unit has DiSEqC 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 support. If the motorised mount is compatible with DiSEqC control this should be fine. There is no mention in the manual of 'Go To X' specifically so we cannot guarantee this functionality.

Can you install a 1Tb external hard drive for this to record on?

Asked by: chaz
This should work fine with this unit. The output power from the on board USB is not high so for stability we would recommend a mains powered drive over a portable.
