Can I use this to transfer data from the SSD of my dead Lenovo to my new Lenovo laptop?

Asked by: Norman7943
If the old SSD is still working then this would be fine.

The description contains "for any type of SATA drive", but is it compatible with SATA III drives (up to 6 Gb/s), like a Samsung SDD 840, and what would connect that to a USB socket if not?

Asked by: dave
This has a standard SATA II power and data connection inside. SATA III drives should be backwards compatible (unless specifically stated by the manufacturer), they would just run at a slower transfer speed.
