We have all at some point struggled with reversing into a tight spot, or sometimes gone that little too far. Well now with this ingenious device you can actually see what is behind you and prevent those nasty shocks when we inadvertently hit an obstacle. Simple connection of the camera and monitor can give you that third eye facility as the camera transmits to the small colour screen when you select reverse gear offering the drive a means to safe and effective parking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this camera for my motorhome, because it has no rearward vision since I fitted a back-box. It was very easy to install, and you can choose whether to wire it to the reversing lights or to a permanent live or ignition live, depending on your preference. The camera has a good wide view of the rear, but objects do seem farther away than they really are. The monitor is small, but I stuck it to the (now redundant) rear-view mirror so it is close to me. I would not use it for precision reversing, but it's really there so I can check there is nothing behind when reversing, and for that purpose it fits the bill perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I fitted this to a LandRover Defender in about two hours. This is longer than would have been taken on a normal car because I 'hid' the camera in a rear bumper recess to avoid the chance of damaging it when off roading. I was pleased to find the transmitter unit can be put behind internal trim panels (and adjacent to speakers) without compromising the transmission qualities. I did wire up the unit initially before permanent installation to make sure all worked fine. Picture clarity is excellent, even in poor light. I managed to reverse straight onto my trailer hitch on the first attempt. If this camera saves me damaging the paintwork on the bumper it has paid for itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've had one of these on the rear of my pickup truck for 5 years now and it's still performing well. Installation was very simple and I have the screen mount stuck on one end of the rear view mirror, gives perfectly adequate image of blind spot behind the pickup and in this position you also have your normal rear view mirror view as well. Never had a problem with water getting into the camera housing nor any misting up and the camera is located where it gets loads of road spray whenever the roads are wet. It's been pressure washed on a regular basis too without any problems. I've been so impressed with it's reliability I'm going to fit one on my new estate car too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from brought this when on offer and fitted it with an hour, the most difficult part was fitting the wire from the camera to the control box as this involved taking the interior trim off the rear door. However it gives a very clear picture and works really well. Haven't had any of the issues that others have said about misting up in damp conditions, even when raining hard in cold weather, it still works well. I got this to help when reversing a trailer and does the job well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good camera for the price, good range from the transmitter, however, before you fit it, take the backing plate off the camera and fill the void with silicone, my first camera fogged up within a month as the camera itself is not very well weatherproofed. Second one is all siliconed up and seems to be working well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a replacement for a stolen monitor. The picture from screen and camera is very good in daylight and well lit areas at night. In low light you can still see anything behind you but it is a not pin point clarity

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this a couple of years ago as a rear view mirror when towing our caravan, the screen mounting system was very limited, so I made up my own clip. Fortunately I mounted the camera to look out the rear window so I avoided the waterproofing issues lots of reviewers noted. Its just a pity the connectors were so poor, I ended up removing the little connectors and soldering each wire to the pins. Overall a great idea, ruined by poor quality and being the same frequency as blue tooth is the death knell.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good bit of kit when it was on offer but I think the current price is too steep - especially when it only lasted just over a year before the transmitter packed up. It receives the pictures from shop CCTV systems as I drive past so the receiver bit is ok. Be better if the components could be available separately, to allow repairs.

I have a new Nissan Micra but cannot see how to remove panels to get at the reversing light. I cannot find anything in the manual. Please can you help me?

Asked by: Pup 3
If you need to access parts of your car like removing a panel or bumper, you would need to speak to a mechanic unfortunately.

Will this camera act as a "rear view mirror" in a caravan? Would like to see what's behind when driving not just when reversing. Is the transmitter capable of working over a 10 meter distance?

Asked by: eddyboy
Sorry the product is not suitable for that usage.
