Rated 4 out of 5 by from Having read the previous review, I decided on purchasing this make and model as my HD signal was rather weak compared to standard definition. It was out of stock at the time, so have been using a '1-Way TV Signal Booster' (made by the same company, Philex) that I discovered and purchased in another shop, until the Amplified Aerial arrived in stock. The aerial does work much better than my old indoor aerial on its own, but on comparing signal strength / signal quality on my TV set, it's not as strong as the TV Signal Booster plus my old aerial. Would recommend, but the 1-Way TV Signal Booster would be worth considering, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I recently bought this aerial for my son's room at university. In what was clearly a poor digital signal area the results I achieved where brilliant. Having previously tried another more expensive digital aerial, with a 'no signal' result, I cannot recommend this item enough. Well made and sturdy design with adjustable gain. Perfect!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from quite good I've brought many aerials over the years since I was 10 . finally I found one that works I've lost a lot of my allowance on indoor aerials I wish I'd gone for this one in the first place . its not perfect but my area is poor . I get 16 channels with 40 % signal .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great if you have a good signal This aerial will work if your in a good signal area if not then it won't work I've tested many indoor aerials and this has to be the 2nd best I've tried it works as a roof aerial if it's in the right place it shall work for most people this won't work as it needs a strong signal to work so any further than 4 miles from your transmitter this is no good and that goes for all indoor aerials.

I live in Harrow & the signal is not too good. Possibly 'shadow' from Alex. Palace. Can you advise if I should just buy an aerial or with a booster??? Thanks.

Asked by: Lord Dougs
Typically speaking a booster will improve the gain of the signal after the aerial has captured it, if you live in a poor signal area this would be of no benefit. The only true way to improve signal would be with an dedicated external mounted rooftop aerial, this will always deliver higher clarity of signal and better reception.

I am close to my local transmitter and for the past year have been able to view all freeview channels but recently many of the channels are breaking up. I have retuned my logic TV but to no avail. Anyone with any ideas?
