What is the range with aerial supplied? What weather stations are received by this radio?

Asked by: Delta39
The range would vary based on the mode selected and the environment you are using them in, 5w would normally give a good couple of miles of range, but this could vary. We cannot specify which stations would be received as again this would vary based on your area, but it would receive any broadcasting non-encrypted signals within the 156-162 MHz range.

What is the range of this radio and can a larger antenna be put on.

Asked by: edguy69
This would be compatible with antennae with the BNC fitting. As the antenna is changeable, along with the effects of other environmental factors, a range has not been supplied by the manufacturer.

I was a fisherman, and I am looking to buy a radio scanner that picks up boats as I live by the sea, and all emergency people like police ambulance, does this one only work by battery

Asked by: joska
This item will pick up boats, but you will not be able to get police or ambulance as they are now encrypted to prevent listening in.
