What can I expect from this?
This GuitarLink Plus provides you with all you need to start recording your guitar on your computer. It consists of ION’s GuitarLink guitar to USB cable and Native Instrument’s Guitar Rig LE software, for recording and adding effects to your guitar sound. The GuitarLink guitar to USB cable is plug-and-play, so no drivers are required. With the five meter cable, you can play comfortably without needing to get too close to your computer. Built-in is an analogue-to-digital converter, which converts at 16-bit, 44.1kHz, supplying you with studio-quality digital audio straight to your computer.

What can I do with the included software?
Supplied is Native Instrument’s Guitar Rig LE software which allows you to record your ideas at a moment’s notice. Three guitar and bass amplifiers, three speaker cabinets (lead 800, twang reverb and bass pro), 12 professional effects and a metronome, gives you the ability to edit your tone to create your perfect sound. Some example of the effects include overdrive/distortion pedals, various models of flanger, chorus, wah-wah, delay, reverb and much more. The software even has a tuner, so you can tune your guitar quickly and get back to playing or recording.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cannot activate only numbers appear in activation This is a present i received, it all loads okay and the system appears on the screen when you open the program but I cannot activate it because my keyboard will not type letters in the code bar, only numbers and there is nothing wrong with my PC or keyboard, I cannot make a comment because I cannot get it to activate due to this input problem. uninstalled and back in the box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Software is awesome but buy Alesis Having used Alesis' Guitar Link \ Guitar Rig product I expected the Ion version to be just as painless, but the serial code on the DVD sleeve was utterly wrong, thus far it's taken 4 days to get a response from the Ion warranty and support team, which was a pointless request for information I had already provided. Guitar Rig is fantastic, the Ion product has woeful support.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Check out NI's FAQs first. If you're thinking of buying this, google 'activating the NI Guitar Rig.' I see nothing wrong with the hardware, It's a cable. The software works in demo mode superbly but I bought the thing and I want to use it properly. I use a Behringer guitar link also supported with NI software and despite contacting their support it has taken 3 years before a chance search on the web sorted out for me the fact that I couldn't until then record from it. I'm now in the process of trying to find out why I cannot activate this NI package. Judging from what I have seen on the internet and previous experience it could be a long wait. If this was working properly I feel sure I'd give it 5 stars but with all the hassle of getting it to work - as yet, not successfully - it deserves a one. Unless you're a computer geek or know one, think hard. Native Instruments needs to get its act together.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems Getting it to Sound Right It has worked properly some of the time but most of the time I get just feedback and distortion from the start or slowly appearing over time. I haven't tried changing ASIO settings yet but the last time I used it closing and re-opening the GuitarRig software meant I it worked okay for a while.
