Full Guitar Hero LIVE experience without a console
iOS Guitar Hero LIVE allows you to enjoy the full Guitar Hero experience without a console for the first time. The wireless guitar controller has BLE connectivity, and can connect to any of your Bluetooth enabled iOS 8 (or higher) devices. The Guitar Hero LIVE for iOS allows you to take centre stage and play and master over 40 tracks with the Guitar Hero app, which is free to download from the App Store. In Guitar Hero LIVE you can play in career mode or quickplay. The iOS Guitar Hero LIVE lets you enjoy the gameplay on any screen size. You can practise your moves on your iPhone before inviting friends around to challenge their star skills on the bigger screen of your Apple TV. iOS Guitar Hero LIVE allows you to continue your gameplay without the guitar controller. When you’re on the move, you can turn on iOS Touch gameplay to keep your performances going. If you want to trade in your competitive Guitar Hero side for a more social vibe, then you can try singing lead vocals in sing-along mode. You will need to plug in a USB microphone (not included) and the lyrics will appear above the guitar’s note highway.
The Guitar Hero LIVE app also gives you access to GHTV channels, which span every genre and feature and ever-expanding 200+ track list. GHTV is a continuous broadcast of music videos where you play the lead performer of every song. You can also access premium GHTV content on a pay to play basis, which can include anything from new music videos to live concert footage.
Easy to pick up, harder to master
The Guitar Hero LIVE controller has been redesigned to provide the best gameplay across all skill levels. A new two by three button layout means the controls are easier to pick up but also harder to master. This is because the beginners can play songs with only three buttons, but the veteran skill level requires a mastery of chord-mirroring shapes with all six buttons. The new design has retained the strum bar, and brought back the whammy bar so you can rock out to a powerful chorus or show some flair during a lead guitar solo. The new design also includes a power button which functions the same as the tilt sensor, making the Hero Power gameplay feature more accessible. The other new button on the Guitar Hero LIVE controller is a GHTV button, which connects you to GHTV no matter where you are in the game.
Real crowds, real band members, real reactions
The iOS Guitar Hero LIVE has full motion video and first-person view. This makes the experience more realistic than ever, where both the audience and the band members display real reactions to how you are playing. You will receive welcoming cheers and support if you’re playing well, but receive scowls and have things thrown at you if you play badly. The full motion video lets you immerse yourself in the music performing experience, highlighting the importance of atmosphere at concerts. In Guitar Hero LIVE you play as the lead guitarist in two fictional bands, playing different stages at two fictional festivals: SoundDial and Rock the Block. Whichever mode you choose to play in, you get to experience performing on stage at a variety of venues from small clubs to huge outdoor festivals.
