Rated 1 out of 5 by from A good product severely let down by a poor hinge fitting to the lid. The sealed lid often pops off when I open it making the product pretty much useless as an all weather product. It uses a round pin as a hinge that seats in a small plastic recess that isn't up to the job and doesn't hold the pin in place. Shame really because otherwise it was a good product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This power socket is a very well built sturdy piece of kit. I’m using it outside fixed to an outside wall in direct line with all types of weather. I am disabled and need to charge my battery’s on my scooter that is in the back of my car, so I’ve had it fixed to the wall near the back of wear my car is parked and I bought a 10 meter extension cable which I plug into it and leave the other end in the car through a slightly opened window to charge the battery’s. I’ve then had the power socket wired up to a long power cable with a 13amp plug attached to the end and then simply plugged it in to a mains wall socket for the power source. Everything I needed to do this project was bought from Maplins online and the delivery was here on the second day and well packaged up too. If you have weak fingers strength you may find the four closing latches on the underside a little hard to push to open the lid. I found that I’ve had to snip off the plastic latches that secure it very tightly closed. There are still two latches on the corners which are still holding the lid closed securely and flush with the gasket ensuring that no rain can get in. That has done the job for me perfectly. I’m very pleased with this double OCD socket it is made to a very good quality and standard.

N05CK 13A Outdoor Socket

Can I run the feed cable into the side or top of this rather than through the back and if so does it remain waterproof?

Asked by: d12345
Cable entry for power source is from the bottom or side via provided entry points. Cable exit for the device in use is through the bottom of the unit with the door flap closed to seal the unit.

1. Can these units be wired in series: i.e. mains lead in and another out to next unit? 2. Will these units take a moulded plug with initial thicker wire kink prevention to the flex:
Asked by: Campbell
Yes, the product should be fine on both of those requirements.
