How powerful are these speakers?
The Black JBL Control One Monitor Speakers have a peak output of 200W and are ideal to be used at home as an additional pair of speakers on a television to give you a fantastic sound quality for when you are watching your favourite movie or TV program. The speakers can be easily positioned as either front or rear facing for the best effects.

What connections does this speaker come with?
The JBL Control One speakers are fitted with a twin push terminal input. This connector uses a bare twin speaker cable to send audio and power to speakers. This will allow you to run virtually any length of cable between the amplifier and speaker, allowing the cable to be easily concealed when installed.

Does the speaker require an amplifier?
These speakers are passive in design and connects directly to an amplifier. The amplifier then supplies the speaker with an audio input to play as well as power.

What is the difference between RMS and peak output?
RMS, which measures a speaker’s average power output, will allow you to compare various speakers of a similar size regardless of brand. The peak output is the maximum power the speaker can handle from the amplifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small speaker,Big Sound! I was looking for an upgrade for my 1990's Pioneer Stack System, although the standard speakers were great, they were on the Large size and very Bulky. I decided to do some research and came across these speakers, Wow!! Even though they are a 1/3rd of the size and weight they pack a punch! I was listening to some vinyl with them and they certainly hold on their own, the bass is far superior than i expected from such a small speaker. The added bonus were the brackets that come with the speakers, very easy to install and look great in any environment. Certainly a thumbs up from me! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning sound for their size I've had these for ten years, given by a friend only just found out their true power! For the average Jo, it's doubtful you could want more from a little speaker. Clarity is amazing and bass is unbelievable from a tiny cabinet like this! Even thought the diaphragms are disintegrating, they still sound superb. Trying to decide on whether to replace the diaphragm or buy new C1's!

Can I connect qty 8 of these speakers to a Rotel RA-810A amplifier? I have an area 6m x 6m where we want 6 speakers around a dance floor and then a further 2 speakers in a different area working off a switch. If not, what is the minimum amp size?

Asked by: Stevie271
Hi Stevie271. I have checked the Rotel amplifier, and it is a very weak model, 2x20W, weighing only 6kg, and specified to drive no lower than 8 Ohms. It is not able to drive 8 loudspeakers, except at very, very low volume, and then only if the speakers are connected in a combination of series and parallel to get to 8 Ohms or higher load. It may also be possible to use a separate speaker switch that features ballast resistors to ensure a constant load of 8 Ohms, but we do not sell such items. The correct way of doing what you want, is to buy a multi-channel amplifier, for instance an 8-channel power amplifier. You can find this kind of product on Amazon. That way, you will drive each speaker with its own, dedicated power amplifier, which is the right solution.

Can they be used as part of a tv cinema/surround sound set up with sound bar included?

Asked by: Fitzy0901
Hi These speakers require an amplifier/receiver/AVR to connect to. These are standard 200W (max) bookshelf speakers. Usually you can't connect these to a soundbar. If you require more product information, please contact our customer support, so we can advise you.

I have an old JBL encounters woofa. the satellite speakers blew. Can I buy the control one speakers and connect them to the old JBL encounters woofa?

Asked by: vanpat
Hi Vanpat, That should be possible, but you have to make the plugs yourself for the JBL Control one speakers. Once they are connected to the subwoofer they should play and work. Now the amplifier inside the subwoofer might not be powerful enough to the control one speakers, and we can not tell how the sound would be. You are more than welcome to try it out. If you need more information, please contact customer service.

can i use a Aux cord on the speakers to connect to a cd player or even the the hifi system?

Asked by: Hman15
Hi. Control One is a normal, passive loudspeaker, and needs to be connected to an amplifier with normal speaker leads. No AUX connection is possible.
