Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Product Well, I bought this product from Maplin in Hull this Thursday, I thought when I unboxed it when it was in pieces that it would be a struggle to assemble, but with the really helpful instructions included I soon got it all together, the product is great for people who are really into their lighting and in my case it allowed me to program all of my moving heads and scanners, with all the gobos, colours and pan / tilt functioning correctly, A really really good product from Maplin and I personally would recommend this to you people out there, well done maplin! another successful product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This kit is relatively easy to assemble and the supplied dlls allow complete control of the DMX system with your own (or the supplied) software. We use these to control DMX lights and smoke machine is several of our Laser Tag arenas. We also have DMX dimmer packs running non DMX lights as well as the DMX effects, you just have to give them the appropriate Channel numbers and values.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I run my LED Par cans with this unit, After realising the I needed to swap the polarity of the signal to match the lights internal wiring. It works very with the software supplied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This DMX interface has worked great for me, it comes in a kit and you have to assemble it but the instructions are good and it won't take much time at all! It's great for price, I've had mind for over 4 years and it still works perfectly fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product You do need to be handy with a soldering iron to put this together, but once you've finished it works like a charm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb value USB - DMX interface I bought this yesterday. Assembly took about an hour and the unit is now working nicely. I tested it first with the battery test mode and it drove my unit exactly as expected. I then disconnected the battery and loaded the supplied DMX Light Player software on my PC. I connected the USB cable to the PC (Windows 8) via a USB hub. The PC took about 15 seconds to detect the correct USB driver and install. I then built a simple 4 RGB lamp test fixture in DMX builder, set my unit up in 12 channel mode to match with corresponding starting address and drove the unit exactly as expected. Perfect. I won't be using the supplied software for live control (I intend to use Freestyler) but it's great for testing operation and as emergency fallback. My biggest concern is the lack of galvanic isolation between the DMX bus and the USB bus. Hopefully the Zener diodes and self resetting fuses will do the necessary. I'd have preferred a slightly more expensive kit with opto-isolators, but am prepared to take the risk by being careful with my fixtures. Great value for money interface compared with many commercially available units - definitely enough to get me started experimenting.
