What can I record on this kit?
Have fun building this kit (manufactures code 1049) which allows you to record audio clips of between eight and 16 seconds and play them back. The longer the recording the worse the quality will be as the sample rate is reduced, 10 seconds is recommended as the best combination of quality and length. Really simple to use – just press one button to start recording and another to finish with an LED to let you know when you’re recording and when playback is finished. When it’s not recording the kit goes to sleep and uses almost no power, extending the battery life.

What is in this kit?
Have fun learning how to use resistors, capacitors, microphones and speakers and gain practical experience in how they work. This kit records using an ISD1820 recording playback integral chip and comes with 20 parts. It requires soldering and two AA batteries (sold separately)

What can I learn from this kit?
This kit is great for introducing beginners to electronics and soldering. Add to your kit and create an enclosure to protect it (not included) and see what interesting audio clips you can find. See what other options are available for customising the microchip or even control with a micro-controller (for example Arduino or PIC) if required.

Can you advise of a suitable PIR unit/kit so I can trigger the play button using a PIR?

As much as we would love to be able to help here, as Technical Support Advisors we cannot offer design project advice or assistance, we are more than happy to locate products and support you with your purchases but we are not able to design entire circuits or projects for you. If you do have the design/circuit information detailing the value of the components needed we will be happy to locate these for you.

Hello, I wanted to use this to record a message, put it in a box, seal the box then have it play at a set time every day. Is there a way of doing this or another product that can be linked to make this happen?
