What is this magnifier for?
This magnifier is ideal for close-up precision work, leaving your hands free for tools. The fully adjustable headband includes four interchangeable optical lenses and a built-in spotlight. It is perfect for craft, hobby and DIY projects demanding close-up work.

What different lenses come with the magnifier?
The headband magnifier comes with four different lenses of varying magnification: 1.2x, 1.8x, 2.5x and 3.5x. These have a working distance from 600mm all the way down to 75mm, giving a full range of focal lengths and a magnification for almost any job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from See the point clearly I purchased this item after an extensive internet trawl during which I examined like-for-like in terms of magnification options. I settled on Maplin as their price was competitive and function compared favourable with many other similar makes but significantly keener priced. The element of caution of buying cheap is usually greater but having used the product several times for tasks that required different focal lengths I can happily state that I am entirely content.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor light The magnifier is excellent, strongly made and easy to adjust. It let down by the light which uses a standard torch bulb. Problem solved with a led replacement bulb from" the torch site"

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Headlight magnifier Lenses are OK but headlight is underpowered for any serious work, a head torch would be brighter.

Can this be used by a glasses wearer - will the lens fold down over glasses OK?

Asked by: Sierra
This would depend on the size/style of glasses you would be wearing. Suitability could be determined in any Maplin store.
