description says "Requires Optional" hub - what does that even mean?? Is it optional or required???  I am looking for devices which connect direct to Echo. Hubs are old technology

Asked by: AlexP
it actually says "Requires optional LightwaveRF WiFi Link to use the app" The PIR switch can be used to control other Lightwave devices, however should you wish to integrate it into a complete home automation system with internet connectivity and the ability to control the devices by the Lightwave app then you would need to purchase the optional Lightwave Link HUB. If you want something that connects direct to amazon echo this then is not suitable.

Do you make an outdoor version of the pir detector for drive, patio, footpaths and outbuildings ?  Thank you.

Asked by: Nick
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

Asked by: big mc
Yes the wiring is loop in / out, and this is for UK 230V mains.
