About this product

  • Relay allows you to control up to three appliances up to a total of 3000W load capacity
  • Works with all LightwaveRF controllers

Product overview

• Designed to control lighting or powered devices via remote control or from the downloadable app
• Relay allows you to control up to three appliances up to a total of 3000W load capacity
• Works with all LightwaveRF controllers
• Can be installed outside when used with the Double Weatherproof Housing Enclosure - N70QJ

What makes this relay different?
This relay has a higher wattage rating than the dimmable model. This means you can wire in a device that needs more power for it to operate, for example a garage door. With this, you can then wire in your electric garage door to work from your phone, through the dedicated app, or even by your standard LightwaveRF remote control.

What can I use this relay with?
This relay, with its higher load rating, can be used for a range of applications. You can use it for something as simple as turning your bedside lamps on and off, opening and closing electric blinds or even open and closing an electric garage door. Add in the double weatherproof housing enclosure from LightwaveRF – N70QJ – and you can even install this relay on to an electric gate for use with the app. This makes this suitable for inclusion in security measures or even as an aid for the disabled for closing the curtains or blinds.

How easy is the relay to install?
Wiring this relay can be as easy as wiring a plug. On the bottom of the relay is a hatch which, when opened, allows you access to the terminal screws. Once you have opened this hatch wire the live, neutral and earth to the relevant terminals. If you are in any doubt, we recommend you consult a trained electrician, who will be able to wire this in.

Please note: To use the app with this product, you will require the optional LightwaveRF Wi-Fi Link A23RX.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation For Me Bought this a month before Christmas to go with both a Lightwaverf link and a Amazon Dot,all to start to replace my original Infra Red systems that I built about twenty years ago,so installation was simple as I have a central control unit, this was removed and the wiring transferred to the relays, all very easy to install and link up to the 'Link',so far working really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LightwaveRF 3 way relay Arrived in good time along with the wifi unit. Connections robust enough for my purposes. It connected to the wifi unit very easily. While the 3 way switching is useful, the switching contacts are limited amps wise, I needed to install interposing relays for my application.

Will this item work 2way light switching, so one switch on the wall the other switch being the relay. I can't see the connections on the unit so I'm assuming it'll be a 'com' 'l1' 'l2' for each of the 3 relays with a L-N for supply to unit?

Asked by: Crabby
The unit just allows switching on/off of up to 3 individual circuits. Sorry Maplin cannot offer any advice on installation or wiring for a particular task.

Typically this will only work with other lightwave products You will also need a lightwave wi-fi hub in order to operate the device

Is this 3 isolated switches so 3 wires in and 3wires out? So that 2 way light switches can be controlled. It's frustrating that Lightwave insiston dimmers for all their light switches.

Asked by: Mark
I am pleased to advise the product you mentioned will do exactly what you require.
