Product overview

  • Adjustable, negative voltage regulator
  • Supplies 1.5A across -1.2V to -37V
  • Requires only two external resistors to set output voltage
  • Full overload protection

An adjustable, 3-terminal, negative voltage regulator capable of supplying 1.5A over a range of –1.2V to –37V. It is exceptionally easy to use and requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage.

Besides having a higher performance compared with fixed regulators, the LM337 offers full overload protection with current limiting, thermal overload protection and safe area protection. All overload protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the adjustment terminal is disconnected.
The adjustment terminal can be bypassed with a capacitor to ground to achieve very high ripple rejection ratios that are difficult to achieve with standard 3-terminal regulators.
Output voltage is set by connecting a twin resistor divider between output and circuit ground and connecting the adjustment pin to the junction. A precision current regulator can also be made by connecting a fixed resistor only between the adjustment and output pins, and connecting the load to the adjustment pin. The device is available in TO220 package (LM337T).

Output voltage: 1.2V to 37V
Input/output differential voltage: 40V max.

Sorry. I meant what external resistors do I need to achieve a 6 volt output?

Unfortunately Maplin technical advisors are unable to help with any questions pertaining to circuit or project design, if you have elected to utilise this item in a circuit then you would need to determine the correct components needed for that task.
