How much storage will I have?
Your video footage is recorded on the 1TB hard drive. With this amount of storage, you are able to hold up to 300 hours of recorded footage before the DVR starts to write over what has already been recorded. This gives you up to 12 days to retrieve any footage you would like to download off the DVR system and onto an external memory device.

Is this system easy to set up?
The HD DVR is designed for use with 1080p wired HD cameras that use standard BNC cabling to transmit HD images. Connect the HD DVR to a TV or LCD monitor with standard HDMI and VGA inputs. The interface has simple menus and icons, allowing for easy and efficient security DVR programming.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lorex - Disappointment I bought this for my new house because it's an HD system, has 12 cameras & enables remote viewing. The instructions are clear and simple to follow and I was "ready to go" in no time, however, when I turned the unit on I found the cooling fan is unbelieveably noisy, so loud it's distracting, so loud that I've had to reinstall it outside the house!! Picture quality is not noticeably any better than my old Swann 720 system and more often than not I'm unable to remotely view anything because the software "failed to connect". I bought this system because I trusted Maplin, The "buyer" who selected this system has damaged my faith in Maplin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noises but GREAT Ok I agree with the review that says it is noisey. After that I couldn't disagree more. This system is so much better than my Swann system. So good in fact that I have this in my house and at my parents. I have even managed to get my Swann PTZ cameras to work with it and it is now running 14 cameras like a dream.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good cameras Whilst not as robust as the swan camera system (Plastic not Metal casing) the images are still good, the online viewing side is easier to set up and so far no problems after two months plus

Assuming properly rated cables, what is the maximum power/signal cable run for this combination of PVR and camera; and can the contained power supply support all 12 (or all 16) cameras at this maximum range?

Asked by: Anonymous
If you are powering the cameras from the main unit the maximum distance would be 30m, if you are powering the cameras locally however the maximum distance would be 75m.
