What sort of cameras come with this kit?
This four channel CCTV kit comes complete with four 2MP high definition cameras and cables, built for day and night use with powerful night vision up to 40 metres and weatherproof IP66 technology that's ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Each of the three megapixel cameras gives you a high definition 1080p resolution, allowing you to capture faces clearly and protect your property thoroughly. These features make this kit perfect for protecting your home or business.

How easy is this kit to set up?
Installation and setup are now easier than ever with Power over Ethernet (PoE) allowing both digital video signal and power to run from the NVR to the cameras through the same cable. Simply run one of the included CAT5e Ethernet cables from a camera to the NVR and click it into place the same way you would when connecting to your PC or router. Additionally, the whole system will use only one power socket for up to four NVR cameras - it really is that easy!

How long can I record for?
The included NVR is the latest in CCTV technology and outputs video at 1080p resolution for high definition quality. Footage is recorded directly to the huge 2TB hard drive, which is capable of recording continuously for up to 30 days and is easy to set up. Everything you need to operate your system comes included in the box, allowing you to start recording your property right away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent, but needs improvement I've had this system (LNR118SP+4 x bullet cameras 1080P - PoE) for only two weeks so far, but it seems to be of much higher quality than anything else I found on the market and within it's price range. I got them on offer from Maplin. True Plug&Play, really easy to set up hardware, it took about 2-3 hours to set everything up, including fitting cables on walls and cameras in place with wall-plugs. The reasons why I've given them 4 stars are as follows: - setting up remote connection for them has been a bit of a pain to figure out, especially matching all ports and port forwarding. It takes some IT knowledge, which luckily I've got from previously fitting network systems for a living. Once set up with port forwarding and correct ports and static IP address, DDNS remote connection was a breeze - PoE connector on bullet cameras is exposed to weather and needed proper insulating. Sorted it out with heat-shrink tubes, but the CAT5 cable plugs could do with a shell to match the shell on the camera socket. If available and I'm unaware, I's appreciate a link to the item. - remote viewing by DDNS requires a plugin for Internet Explorer, which requires admin rights to install. So basically, due to security issues, I'm unable to connect to my cameras from my work laptop, IT not allowing the plugin to be installed. Connecting off the phone is brilliant, but eats up massive amounts of data, for obvious reasons. Overall opinion: well worth the money, but could do with some improvements. Despite all that, would definitely recommend!

What models or makes of Pzt camera are compatible with this unit, will it allow the use of any make Poe camera

On this occasion, Maplin does not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

does the cable enter the back of the camera, or via the mounting? Im looking to understand how the camera is weatherproof, but the input for the ethernet cable into the camera isn't.

Asked by: rich
The cable leaves through the mounting of the camera.

The specification reads that one PoE cable is needed to send power to the first camera. How are the other 3 cameras powered? is this daisychained from the 1st camera?

Asked by: Ben82
No, all cams run back to individual port on the NVR unit.

I want to place a DVR/NVR in my loft connected to a router with Powerline then control everything from my PC once the system is set up - Can the system work this way. Does the NVR units have a HHD

Asked by: Alan
Yes, the system can indeed work in this way, you would need to connect to a monitor for first time setup only, then could move the item to the loft can control remotely.

Are the connections waterproof?  The Ethernet cable pugs into the socket in the camera but there does not seem to be any way of preventing water getting into it, also the other lead attached to the camera does not have a cover any suggestions?

Asked by: Ferdinand
No, I am sorry but they are not if you are located the connections outside I would recommend an IP rated box for example
