Rated 2 out of 5 by from Foggy Easy to set up however the view is like looking through fog. Two way communication was good though. I ended up returning it to get a much better Pan and Tilt 2 way coms, which i am extremely happy with and no fog...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Let down by the easy bits I had bought this for remote monitoring but had to return due to unreliability. PQ was good and low light excellent within a room so long as you don't pick up a reflection from IR ie window. A few seconds lag on video, slightly disconcerting but no biggie. One thing to watch is that when free standing, angle of downward tilt is limited so if you want to see anything/anyone on the floor, you may need to permanently mount it upsidedown on a wall and flip the image - as mount and unit caters for. Pan and tilt useful albeit, like the video a bit sluggish but, and its a big but, wasnt always recognised as a feature in some apps so wasnt available sometimes and in the end, all apps reported pan/tilt unavailable until unit reset via physical pinhole on front of unit - so useless if, as we were, monitoring a remote site where you dont have regular physical access to unit. The mic feature was similar, worked in some devices/apps but not others - couldnt hear anything on iPhone 6 but fine with exactly same software on iPad. I tried diferent versions of the Lorex apps on Mac, iPhone and iPad using wifi, hard wired, LAN, WAN and 4G and i dont think i found a single combination that would reliably offer me all the features. Shame being let down by the simple things as the hard bits, such as unit setup and remote access was good. Hopefully in future the apps will be updated and firmware toughened up, but for now, it is not mature enough for my needs. Had they sorted out the niggles, im sure i would have given it 5 star.

Can the camera be installed in the house but still cover the outside garden/driveway through the window . Model Lorex 720p

Asked by: Watto
If you put on the window especially at night, be sure to turn on an angle so as not to get the infrared glare in the window.

Can this camera be used over a wifi network that doesn't have an internet connection? I want to install this camera in one room and view on a device (laptop/tablet/phone) in a different room and do this via the wi-fi network has no internet connection.

Asked by: bill
as long as you get a decent signal yes this can be done wirelessly. I move mine around the house, It has a really long cable lead to plug into your electric socket too.

Will this camera record through glass.? i.e.   standing on window sill indoors and record outside view

Asked by: Darrel
Yes it does if you tilt it on an angle so that the reflection isn't visible. I have set mine up on my back window sill but sideways. You`ll know what i mean when you do it. Theres only 1 red PIR so it`s easier than other ones. I hope that helps.
