What can I see with this microscope?
Place the microscope directly over or on the sample to get the 100x magnification. The minimum focusing distance is 10mm, so you can simply place the microscope on top of your sample and have enough room to see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is an amazing little thing and produces results that are surprising considering it's under a tenner. Has inbuilt led light, powered by button cells and my only gripe is the light needs constant pressure on the switch, as opposed to a slide switch say. That said have spent many hours with this little scope (about the size of a dry marker pen) superb value for money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Some things to consider before buying This is a very compact and well lit pocket microscope with its bright built in led light. However something to consider before buying is that the area of viewing is tiny - literally a 2-3mm hole, which means you can only see a very small area. Also the focal point is quite narrow so you will find that you may squash the subject if delicate and certainly will need to be just touching the subject for it to be in the focal area. The image when in range is very clear and the magnification is superb - as you are only viewing an area of a few mm at a time even the steadiest of hands will struggle to remain on the subject. Build quality isn't brilliant (the battery cover didn't quite click into place, had to use sellotape to keep it in place) but for the price, not bad. I'll be looking for something else that has a larger viewing area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very very short battery life! Brought this item and the battery lasted all of 30 seconds... great buy...

It says 100x strength, but can it vary below this (e.g. 40x, 50x) or is it only one setting?

Asked by: ZiggyC
