About this product

Product overview

• Spinning at 1200RPM, just 23.7dBA of noise is emitted so it’s quiet
• Moves 51.7 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air, producing fantastic airflow around your system
• Standard 3-pin fan connector and 4-pin Molex connector for fans you want to spin at 100 percent speed at all times

How much air does this fan move and is it loud?
Our black PC case fan has been designed so that a large amount of air is moved around your case while emitting low amounts of noise. It spins at 1200RPM, which equates to 51.73 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air being moved around your case, a fantastic amount that will keep your case well cooled. Spinning at such a low RPM this fan is quiet, with only 23.7dBA of noise being generated.

Where should I place this fans?
Since such a high amount of airflow is created by this fan, it is perfect for locating in open locations where little is blocking the fan. You could use the fan as an exhaust fan for your rig, or as an intake fan for side panels or the bottom of your case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quiet fan Bought this fan for a non-standard application and its nice and quiet, well mounted. There are three wires coming from it and there is no indication as to what the 3rd wire (yellow) is for, but if you connect the red and black to a 12V DC source it works fine (but only with the wires one way round, if you connect randomly it will be a 50% chance it spins!). I guess the yellow wire is for some standard computer setting...

The fan is polarity sensitive it only rotates in one direction. It seems noisier one way up as opposed to the other. Is the fan or the bearings designed to perform better with the fan horizontal & with the main Maplin logo up & the wires underneath?

Asked by: MervynG
The orientation and position of the fan should have no bearing on it's performance.

As it is voltage sensitive and only rotates in one direction, does it matter which way up it is positioned?

Asked by: MervynG
The rotation of the fan would not matter.

I need to ventilate a housing for a small fridge. I Think this fan has three wires, live neutral and a pc board connection (yellow). Can this fan be used without the yellow wire .

Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee full compatibility for this item, as this is not the manner for which it was designed to be used.
