Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Device works with my Japanese SEGA Saturn which is all well and good BUT after a few minutes it omits a HURRENDOUS buzzing noise! It sounds as if something inside it is about to go pop! Maplineer note:Step down converters can emit a low level buzzin noise during use but if the sound produced is as loud as described it might be that the item question may need replacing. We would recommend contacting our customer care team directly who will be happy to arrange for a replacement item if required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my import games machines Good little stepdown and operates my Japanese PlayStation 2 and Japanese Sega Dreamcast just fine as they both require a bit more oomph! To fire up that regular 45w stepdowns struggle with especially on my more power hungry console. I really don't know what all the fuss is about it being noisy, name one stepdown thats quiet? Been using stepdowns for 25 years for my imported games machine's and they have all been noisy and this particular one isn't out the way, anyway it does the job and has a lead so if the noise is that irritating then just move it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works but NOISY Powers my device fine, but the unit is FAR too noisy. practically silent when first turned on, but leave it on and the continuous buzzing will build to ridiculous levels and won't stop until you leave it off for a few hours. I powered a USA mixing desk with this and found that thankfully none of this noise is transferred into the audio lines; however I've now decided that I need to bring it back. The external noise is unbearable.

Looking to use a 110V, 55W Transformer that outputs 10V 1A would this be suitable for 2-3 hours of use?

Asked by: Thewizard99
As long as the power consumption of the transformer does not exceed 100W, then this should be fine.

Further to my question re this. product for use with top styler by (Instyler)  I forgot to mention the wattage which the company informed me was 165 watts. I hope this helps me get an answer. I am hoping to use this for travel within the uk.

Asked by: Ellie
This unit is shown with a 100w max output so a 165w item will not run from it.
