Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well good picture Installed this HDMI switch to switch between Virgin media cable box and swann CCTV systems to a Samsung wide screen HD TV. Works very well and as far as my eyes are concerned there was no degrading of the signal (picture) from the Virginmedia set top box, the CCTV system has a very good picture as well. The only problem we have is the frequency of the volume control on the Samsung remote control must be very near to the Maplins switching remote control, if you turn the volume down on the TV you switch over the unit and end up watching the CCTV. Not much of a problem as the volume is normally left set on the same number so volume changes are rare for us

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works After reading a plethora of reviews about this type of HDMI switch, of which there are several identical with different brand names online, I bought one for my sister yesterday. I hooked it up to her plasma TV to run a Xbox 360, Xbox one, and Sky+HD. Blue LED power indicator, Blue LED indicator for each used input, the input in use changes to red LED. Turn one on, turn it off, turn another on, it switches from one to the other automatically. This is what I found cool, that is not in the instructions... Xbox One game install takes some time, while a XBox One game is installing, switch on either the Sky box or Xbox 360 to use, manually switch to that input with the remote, or the button on the front of the unit. Then simply switch to the Xbox one input to check installation progress, then switch back again. I had my doubts, but was so impressed I bought one for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well and remote changeover is a great benefit I changed over my old passive (push button) type switch for this unit as I was getting frustrated at having to go to the TV every time I switched between sources. As noted previously this changes automatically, but only if the device is off initially. One of my devices is a connected media PC so on all the time, and in this instance the remote is perfect as this allows me to switch between this and my ATV easily (or more accurately lazily). A good little device, albeit the LED's are quite bright and face forward, so you probably wouldn't want it in a dark bedroom. Recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware remote controllers! Works well with the exception of the remote input switching which occasionally responds to operation of the volume control of our Sky remote controller. It's quite annoying when turning the volume down changes the input device selection. It's so annoying I'm going to have to chuck it in the bin, write off the £30+ purchase price and get a switcher which is more robust in its remote control signalling filtering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so far so good So far so good please read , change your Sky box's 'Digital Audio Output - HDMI' setting (Services > Settings > Sound) to Normal, not DolbyD, to restore sound to your HD channels. Then it will work sky+ box ps3 &ps4 all work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works a treat I wanted to switch between sky hd+ box and Sony blue ray / smart box as TV has only 1 hdmi input. Other switch boxes kept flicking between 2 outputs but this box and remote work perfectly. Remote needs line of sight to box as it is IR (same as most other remotes)

Sir, I bough this 3 way switch some time ago but annoying things is that the switch changes when I adjust the TC volume with the TV remote. I have to keep using the switch remote to go back. Can I fix that or change the unit? Regards Peter

Asked by: Peter
Unfortunately this is not something that can be fixed due to your TV and the switch both accepting the same infrared signals for volume up/down and switching inputs.

We have plugged this splitter in & all it keeps saying is 'can not display this mode change computer display input to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz'. Does it mean our TV is the problem?

Asked by: Medusa
Unfortunately, this could be a number of issues that I would not be able to resolve over the FAQ service I would advise to call in for help.

On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

The TV remote interferes with the switch causing it to change channel. What can I do to fix this issue?

Asked by: Peter
Sorry but if your TV shares the same IR frequency it cannot be "fixed", the frequency for both is manufacturer fixed and cannot be changed. You would need a different switch .. or a different TV.
