Product overview

• Bright 30W LED floodlight with PIR that automatically turns on when movement is detected
• Ideal as a deterrent to would-be burglars or as guidance light for when you leave or arrive at home
• IP44 rated for outdoor use
• Longer lifespan of up to 30,000 hours - energy saving LED uses less power than traditional halogen bulbs
• Very wide beam angle of 120° for improved lighting coverage
• 180° detection range up to 12m away

What would I use this security light for?
This security light detects motion over a huge 180° range and automatically lights when movement is detected. Not only is this useful as a deterrent for any potential intruder, it can also serve to guide you to your door when positioned correctly. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for outdoor use, whilst the 30W LED bulb saves money over traditional halogen bulbs.

Why would I buy this instead of a standard floodlight?
Standard floodlights are manually switched on or off, whereas a light with a built-in passive infrared sensor (PIR) provides greater convenience and security. In addition, the duration of time for which the light remains on once activated is adjustable up to eight minutes, providing the ultimate in flexibility. The PIR will detect motion up to 12m away.

What can I expect from the LED floodlight?
The 30W LED floodlight provides up to 2,100 lumens of cool white 6,500K light giving you a bright enough light to use in commercial and residential premises. In addition to this, it also has a wide 120° beam angle to give you a larger coverage of an area. This additional coverage adds to the security of your home giving you a greater peace of mind knowing you have a deterrent in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well Bought this in the Huddersfield store. Item is great, 30W from LED doesn't sound a lot but this produces an extraordinary amount of light. Installed in the front of house roughly 8m from the roadway and about 15m from where car is parked. Had some car crime in the area so put one of these up, will definitely deter criminals. The sensitivity on the sensor works really well, I have it set at just the right distance. It will also stay on as long as there's movement, and you can set the length of time it stays on for. Going to buy a smaller 10W one with PIR to have in the passageway to light it up at night

Rated 1 out of 5 by from First didn't work, second lasted months. I purchased this from Basingstoke store the first one didn't work. Unfortunately I wasted an hour or so checking wiring outdoors having mounted to wall only to take it down and attach a plug to it to find that fundamentally it didn't work. Basingstoke where happy to replace it. Once up the light is impressive being very bright but very cold white which lit the garden in quite a harsh way. At this point I was pretty happy with it. Although the pir was a little random and too sensitive regardless of adjustment, that didn't matter much at only 30w I just made sure it was off when it wasn't needed. Yesterday the light failed to come on, so it looks like I'm going to have return but I've no idea where the receipt is now after the six or so months it's been up. So in short really bright but poor build quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maplin 30 Watt LED Floodlight. Purchased this floodlight to replace halogen version, quoted to last 30,000 hours. Lasted 16 months then failed, only has a 12 month warranty!!! Well short of the 30,000 hours quoted life expectancy!!!!!!

Had this installed for just over a week and tonight it has just decided to flash fast on/off constantly. Any suggestions?

Asked by: Jamie B
Regrettably this does sound like a potential fault, and as such I would suggest contacting our Customer Care Team who can advise on the options available to you if the item remains within our standard 12 month warranty period.
