What is included in this kit?
This gas soldering iron comes with a complete kit of accessories that will get you started. The kit is supplied with a range of soldering tips so that you can use the soldering iron to its best performance in a range of soldering projects. The kit is also supplied with solder and a tip cleaning sponge, which you can use to keep the tips clean and in good working order.

What difference does the wattage make?
The wattage of a soldering iron is one of the most important factors to consider when deciding which one to buy. When the wattage is higher, it will deliver more power to the tip, allowing it to heat up quicker. As this is a variable wattage soldering iron, up to 80W, it heats the tip up in as little as 20 seconds, allowing you to start soldering without having to wait.

Do I need anything else for this soldering iron?
This soldering iron kit has almost everything you need to get started. All you need to add is Butane gas and you’re ready to start soldering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leeds University Engineering reception Excellent it did exactly what I purchased it for however with the numerous tips supplied there are many more jobs it would be capable of. PS purchased to solder extra led lighting strips together so as to aquire the correct length required for the customer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressed so far Bought this to have a go at mending things rather than throwing them away. I think I've managed to fix a dehumidifier by swapping a capacitor on the circuit board. Next project is my electro-acoustic guitar pre-amp. All good fun. I found this soldering iron surprisingly easy to use and its cordlessness is a real boon. it's not obvious from the description but it has a little hook/rest so you can put it down on a surface while it's still hot (if you're careful not to knock it over). Refilling the butane is extremely simple - no swapping cartridges or what not. The only issue I found was that the solder supplied in the kit didn't seem to flow into a joint as easily as I expected and sometimes rolled into a ball and fell off. Remembering my schoolboy projects I think this is to do with the amount of flux in the solder, but I could be 30 years out of date.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for - nothing more. Tips don't last very long and replacements are not available - even from the original manufacturer. Beware.
