How do I actually use these Heat Shrinkable Cable Splicers? Do I pair back the wire insulation, push wire into either end of the splicer so they meet in the middle and simply heat gun? Or do I need to crimp them somehow?

Asked by: nolacus
You crimp and heat gun the connections

Hi, I've bought a pack of these earlier to re-connect some outdoor Christmas light cables but it seems they're not all that keen to shrink using the hairdryer, even on the hottest setting. What's the best way to shrink the housing?

Asked by: AdrianS
For best results with heat shrink we recommend using a heat gun rather than a hairdryer, something like the following should work fine. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-2000w-heat-gun-n81lg
