Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have plugged this into a wyrestorm hdmi matrix that i have sending one HDMI input around multiple rooms in my house - i have had this for a year with no trouble. The single input has recently been shared between a Sky HD box and a PC with HDMI out (i want to watch VIPTV.net programs on my TV's around the house and then go back to SKy). This switch allows the sky and pc to be shared into the HDMI matrix. Unfortunately after keeping the switch on for 2-3 hours, the sky box or pc image goes green/blue requiring a reset of the HDMI switch. This returns the picture to normal. The box is not overheating as it is alright to touch and pick up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On Sunday I bought an HDMI switcher from Maplin, Camden Town as I needed to connect a Blu-Ray player and a Humax HD Freeview box to the single HDMI port on my Sharp Aquos LCD TV. Unfortunately this didn't work and either the switcher was faulty or not fit for the job. I returned it this morning and purchased this powered 5 port HDMI switch box (on special offer for Ј24.99) which was easy to set up and works perfectly. Joseph who served me was very helpful and there was no quibbling about the refund. Excellent service from Maplin - thank you! 5 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well... for a while! After extended use, the unit heats up and pictures become unstable, flickering on and off. If unplugged for a few hours, it will work well again for another few hours. If I'd kept my receipt I would have returned it, as it is, I'll be looking elsewhere for an alternative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bit of kit, it switches smoothly and there is even a button on the front to manually switch inputs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Life Saver I have been forced to use an ageing TV with only ONE HDMI socket - during the Olympics! This small box enabled me to connect my various devices without any trouble and enjoy the efforts of all those plucky Brits out in Rio.. The remote control is a boon; it saves a lot of jumping up and down to flip switches - I'm getting too old for that! When the new TV arrives I will continue using this 5-way switch as the TV only has 3 HDMI sockets - just not enough!

Remote seems to interfere/interact with sound control on the TV remote. What to do?

Asked by: Nicholas
This may be due to the infrared signal given out by the remote, your TV will pick this up and change the volume/

Hi, I have this HDMI switch which is good, however my satellite receiver remote is changing the HDMI Switch port when I try to either put up the volume, change channels intermittently. How do I fix this?

Asked by: Gibsiani
Unfortunately we have no way to fix this as the two items seem to use the same IR codes to do things.

does this support 4k

Asked by: marc
NOTE: Russell's answer is incorrect - the product he suggests is a splitter and takes a single HDMI input and passes it to up to four HDMI display or other sink devices whereas the OP was asking about this type of product (a switcher) which allows a single sink device to choose between one of a number of sources...!
