Rated 1 out of 5 by from Firstly the AAA battery contacts connect with the battery occasionally (Maplin batteries) Have had to resort to paperclips between battery and connector!! AA batteries seem to connect OK. Although I bought it as a slow charger (I already have a very fast charger) to give the batteries a rest from a very aggressive charge this charger is unreal! The diodes STLL haven't gone out on 2 AAA (950MAh) after 21 hours

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful The LEDs *never* go out (it says so in the sheet-of-a4-manual). You just have to guess when the batteries are charged: it gives timings in the manual, but presumably they're based on the batteries being completely empty (which batteries almost never are). And they're amazing slow: for 2500mAh AA batteries (the highest it goes to!) it says 18-20 hours. There is no trickle charge, it just keeps going. I really wish I hadn't bought this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't function as advertised The leds are always on meaning knowing when a battery is fully charged is pure guesswork. It charges very slowly and its one redeeming feature is that it hasn't caught fire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very slow charging this takes in excess of 13 hours to charge. better off buying this one that takes 90mins http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-hybrid-aaa-and-aa-battery-charger-with-lcd-display-n42fk according to helpline . And lights have no purpose so don't flash or go out when it fully charged

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient battery charger This is an efficient, cost effective battery charger - purchased for low load AAA appliances: also charges appropriate AA batteries. Full marks all round.

I bought your mini charger today and very disappointed.....how on earth are we supposed to know when batteries are charged? I've had the 2 AAA supplied on charge for over 6 hours and the LEDs are still on??

What is the significance of the lights? Are they lit when the batteries are charging or when they are charged?

Asked by: Chris
The lights mean charging is occurring. They will not change when the batteries are charged, you need to manually remove the batteries after the time has elapsed.
