What would I need these for?
This cable access kit allows you to route cables in hard to reach areas, such as behind plastered walls and in ceiling spaces. The kit comes with 10 fibreglass rods of 330mm that have threaded ends so you can connect them together. Meanwhile, the accessories allow you to pull varying cables through walls.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good To Have This cable access set is something that everyone should have in their toolbox. You may not use them very often but these can make an otherwise torturous task easy. I have used them to thread network cables through walls as well as other wires etc at the back of wall fitted workstations. The only reason why I have not given them five stars is that they are not quite flexible enough which can make life a little bit more awkward than it needs to be. However, there is a very flexible little length that can be attached included in the set. The connecting threads are made of a brassy type of metal so you may have to watch out if there are exposed wires in your cable run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Routed Ethernet cable exactly as I wanted As we were redoing an upstairs ensuite, the soil stack boxing was exposed and created the perfect opportunity to route Ethernet cable down the same space. These cables screw together well so I wasn't worried about the getting lost in the void. I taped the Ethernet cable to the end of the rods and pushed them into the rockwool surrounding the soil stack, and kept pushing and adding lengths. A few points of resistance but after wiggling them a bit they appeared downstairs. Then used a rod length with the hook on to retrieve them from the other side of the soil stack. Couldn't have done it without these rods, ideal length for my job (only one storey), and I recommend them to any enthusiastic DIYer especially as everywhere else seemed to be at least twice the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Fitted a CCTV system for myself and this were a life and time saver, brilliant for feeding the Cat 5 cable through small crevices. Nice and compact too, well made and extremely good value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good kit for small jobs with short distances Makes job easier when it comes to cabeling. Bought two of these just to have longer distance that can reach, but must be careful when pulling cables trough some tricky places as connections can get loose. Overall iam happy with it and do recommend

What is the diameter of the rods/rod ends. 40mm as advertised appears to be an incorrect dimension (i.e. too thick)..

Asked by: Paul
These are 6.1mm diameter at largest point.
