Product overview

  • RJ45 crimp-on connectors for use with solid-core Cat 6 twisted pair cable
  • Connections are 30µ" gold plated for reliability

A clever design with separate cable guides that allow cores to be aligned in the correct order easily before insertion and crimping. These connectors are unshielded.
Supplied in packs of ten.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use for Cat 6 Certification I've had 100% success with these and have just ordered another 40. They DO take longer to fit and you need a professional grade crimping tool AND a flush cutter but if you need Cat 6 Certification then you'll understand why you need 3 piece modular plugs. If you've bought them and not sure how to use them look on Youtube - Platinum Tools has a great and very easy to follow video. Take your time and you'll not only start to fit them quickly but the loader bar makes it easy to ensure you never cross a cable accidentally - once you can fit 3 piece plugs then the 2 piece plugs are a doddle (which are excellent for Cat 5e)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought a pack of these before reading the reviews which are a bit horrific. However, I did watch the Platinum Tools vid and it helped a great deal. First one took forever but after that and because I knew what I was doing it all became relatively straight forward. Bit fiddly and instructions or even reference to the video would certainly help and prevent the scathing reviews... I completed three leads (6 plugs) without wasting any and I'm 65!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These are the worst rj45 crimps I have ever purchased, firstly the guides are more hassle tan they are worth - as others have said these will take you 10-20 seconds more time to complete over normal rj45 crimps. To add to this out of the 5 I have terminated from the 60 I have purchased not one has crimped properly and will only run at 100mb, please be advised stay away from these items. I have cut back the plastic from one of these that has been crimped and its obvious the gold plated pins do not locate properly into the wires - be warned!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish -- far harder than traditional plugs I'm an experienced electronics engineer and wireman but had never done network cables before. Have to go through walls etc. so can't use ready-made. I bought these things thinking they'd be easier and also a box of ordinary plugs. I couldn't make a connection with these at all. Stupid things. Using the traditional plugs watching several youtube vids after scrapping four plugs I got the hang of it. I'm sure the best thing is to do half a dozen to get the hang of ordinary plugs than use these silly things. Take your time and 'work' the wires so they are nice and flat and straight then push them straight in, gently with a little side to side wiggle. Speed comes with practice. You WILL need an automatic cable tester. Good luck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A day of frustration I wish i'd read the reviews before I bought and used these. An informed newbie to cabling I found these were really difficult to use successfully, making what should be simple task a tiresome process. The plastic inserts made crimping the outer cable almost impossible and success rate for each completed connector below 50%. To add insult, one successfully completed connector proved have a loose fitting when used in my PC. DO NOT BUY THESE

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Ever Used in 25years+. I've been installing networks since the days of Telenet and Arpanet (well before Internet) and these are by far the worst low grade RJ45 connectors I have ever used; even worse than the 5p ones from China. Very expensive and total waste of time. For me the wireguides are no issue, it's the fact that the tolerances are so bad the wires don't line up with the contacts. An issue you don't get with clasic designs. Only bought to do a quick job. Furious with yet another poor grade product from Maplin. Bye Bye Maplin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect cables Very different to previous RJ45 connectors I've purchased. I had to do a search to see how to fit them together for first one as no instructions, as some other reviews have stated. Once you get the measure of these they allow you to create almost perfect cables every time. I like them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought these thinking they'd be the easiest and quickest installation method, especially after seeing a positive review. I've crimped Cat5e cables before, but using these 'guides' just became troublesome, and over-engineered I feel. They're really not required, as long as your cable cores are in order and straightened out they should fly in. As a result, I'm off to get some different RJ45 cable ends, these are no good I'm afraid. I was trying to crimp Cat5e FTP to RJ45, not sure what it's like on other types of cables.

I am connecting the rj 45 connectors I understand how the small cable plastic guide works but I am unsure how and what order I fit the two small plastic square sections, do the cable cores pass through each square, can any one tell me please.

Asked by: Leco
You would take half the cables through one square and the other half through the other square.
