Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works ok Just bought this item, hooked it up to a Panasonic Sound Base and nothing. The digital coaxial output from the ASDA Pacific TV (Bush rebadged) looking at the TV Manual is turned by default so turned the output port on and all worked. I did not expect this output to be configerable so always check if you have problems.

Does accept he-res signaled i.e. signals greater than CD (16 bit 44.1 sampling freq) and output them without truncation. If so, what is the max. resolution it will accept.

Asked by: Paul OG
This unit will convert the digital signal type there are no specifications listed for frequencies ect I'm afraid . It is simply one digital signal to the other.

Hi, I got a LG soundbar as a present, it has an optical connection. My LG tv does not have an optical socket. Would this product help me connect them?

Asked by: Malachy
Difficult to answer, maybe if you told us what your TV does have rather than what is doesn't we can try to assist.

does this support high resolution audio eg. FLAC

Asked by: Ryan
I'm sorry but I don't really understand the question. FLAC is an lossless encode/decode protocol used on a computer with audio files. I'm struggling to see how you would use this device in that scenario.

The only audio out port on my LG TV is a digital optical out port and I have a pair of wireless Sennheiser headphones I want to use with it. I wonder if this is the item I need to connect my headphones (which appear to have a standard looking jack)?

Asked by: nw2425
No, I am sorry but the item will not be suitable.

can this unit be powered off a USB type connector, if yes can you advise on the connector type size, ( 5.5*2.5mm / 5.5*2.1mm ) Thanks

Asked by: Dee83
No, this is powered by a 9V supply so the 5V USB would not be sufficient.
