  • Manual override button

Product overview

• Add 3 devices to one HDMI input• Automatic switching to the last device switched on• Manual override button• LED Indicators• Full HD 1080p compatible• Also suitable for 480p, 720p and 1080i signals

An ideal solution for a lack of HDMI inputs on your TV or monitor. This simple to use switch allows two additional devices to be attached to a single HDMI port. The switch is automatic, meaning that it will instantly change to the device you want to use as soon as you switch it on. It also has an override switch allowing manual switching if required. LED indicators clearly show which channel is active. A 50cm flylead attached allows for flexible positioning depending on your wiring arrangement. No additional power is required, as this is supplied from the devices you connect to it, simply plug in and it works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 into 1 don't go Totally disappointed as Maplin had run out of two into one units, I wanted to use this between my sky HD and a Samsung Blu-ray DVD seemed to work okay for a little while but then my TV started to develop an audio problem, The sound started clipping I disconnected the unit and connected my skybox up directly to the TV and the problem went, I then reconnected the unit only to find that it did not work if Blu-ray was switched off, so watching TV until the blue ray defaulted switch off after about 20 minutes so I complete and utter waste of time and money going back tomorrow to get a refund

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this to work with satellite receiver and goodmans freeview receiver. Unfortunately the goodmans receives a surge from the remote contro for the satellite receiverl and the lg tv I use so both turn the switch back to number one hd socket so cant use any remote control as keeps switching back .Better if you could disable automatic switching

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with all HDMI sources Works OK, but not with all sources: with my Sony BDP-S185 blu-Ray player it periodically loses sync. It blanks the screen and audio (for approx 2 seconds) as though switching to another source and immediately switching back to the blu-ray player. Sometimes the screen shows digital noise briefly. This does not occur with the same player directly connected to the screen. All other sources switch OK through this device. I'll be changing this for a manually-switched alternative.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this item to link 3 basic HDMI DVD players to a single TV set. Which it does perfectly well. One player can then be dedicated to say drama, 1 to comedy and 1 to documentaries. This then allows single episodes to be watched without any need for swapping DVD's back and forth into their cases. The product description is slightly misleading however as the device only switches automatically to the first device, a DVD player in this case which is powered up. It doesn't switch automatically to any further DVD players which are powered up. These need to be selected using the button. Which is no great hardship as compared with swapping discs around etc. Especially given that the switch doesn't require any independent power source - a bonus - which is usually a requirement in my experience for active switching units. The button doesn't function as an "override" as claimed in the product description - as why would there be any need for an over-ride in the first place ? And would such a sophisticated option be offered at such a low price ? I doubt it somehow. Despite this and despite the fact that the manual lapses into mistranslated gibberish at times this product represents very good value in my opinion as an effective solution to the problem of playing content from 3 different DVD players. michael adams I would rate this as five star as a good value solution for linking DVD players but as I have no experience of its suitability for other equipment I cannot give an unqualified recommendation. So four only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it is meant to, has done well for me. I have had this for a few years now, and currently have a Sony Blu-ray player, a Google Chromecast and a Nintendo Wii U connecting to my Sony LCD TV (which is around 8 years old and has a single HDMI port). Other items I have previously had plugged into the same switch included an Apple laptop and a Raspberry Pi. Auto switching usually works when you want it to, and you can always push the button on top if it doesn't. I have never had it switch away from what I was watching unexpectedly unless someone switched on another connected device. I preferred this switch over others when buying it as it does not require any external power adapters - it doesn't plug into the mains at all. Recently it was making a periodic static / squelch noise through the TV when using HDMI, I made sure the cable was tight in the socket on the back of the TV and it has not returned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from To start with it never worked with my Blu ray player even with different combination of cables and ports so have given up on that item but it worked for 1-2 weeks between Apple TV and Virgin box, now doesn't work at all. Save yourself the money and spend it on a more robust piece of kit

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dissapointed Bought this for my sons PS4 and sky box but it only works when both devices are switched on. As soon as you turn off the PS4 it doesn't pick up the signal from the sky box..:(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice idea but it did not work with my Fetch PVR, just wouldn't pass signal through. Was ok with my Denon DVD.

Hi, I brought one of these to work sky q, x box one and now tv, when using the wi fi go goes down and all wireless devices can’t get a signal. Can you tell me why this is happening

Asked by: Chris
Sorry I cannot offer an explanation for the scenario you describe. What I can tell you is that it is very unlikely that a HDMI switch would have any effect on the Wi-Fi or Wireless capabilities on any of the devices you own.

when I connect my PS4 to this device it does not show on screen, if connected directly to my monitor all is good...a PC tower is also plugged into this switch, that shows fine.....I was told in the shop this would work fine....should this happen?

Asked by: Wayne
This item is unlikely to support a PS4's HDCP needs.

I have a Freesat box that keeps causing this switch to change to the freesat connection, even when not in use. Is there a way to disable the auto-switching?

Asked by: derekoh
Unfortunately not, however it should only auto-switch when the signal is activated either from power up or return from standby.
