Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor quality When connecting in my phone the connection sometimes cuts out and wire has to be in a certain position to make sure it works. Expected better quality but it was like the it had been used previously. Will keep as it works if the wire is wrapped around the phone but expected a lot better

What is the difference between gold plated ends and nickel? Is one more superior to the other and what are the benefits please.

Asked by: Louiports
Gold is a better conductor of electricity than silver (nickel). Some would argue that you get a clearer signal by using gold connectors...but realistically unless you are listening to an extremely high fidelity audio source on an analog system, you are never going to notice the difference.

I want to connect RCA outlets into a stereo amp input on a speaker switch which accepts bare speaker cable. I found an IEC 18 AWG pair cable with RCA males in the US. Do you do anything similar or could I strip the phono plug off this and use it?

Asked by: Colin
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

Looking for 3.5 mm female socket to 2 phono

Asked by: Chris
We do not have such a cable, but you could easily convert this cable to female with a female/female coupler. Simply place the coupler onto the end of the 3.5mm jack and it is changed to female.
