Hybrid batteries are the next generation of rechargeable batteries that combine the benefits of alkaline batteries with the performance of rechargeable batteries. Whereas standard rechargeable batteries must be charged before first use, Hybrid batteries are supplied fully charged and ready to use. They have a very slow discharge rate and can retain their charge for up to 12 months, which makes them ideal for use in a wide range of devices. They are suitable for use in high drain applications such as digital cameras as well as low drain devices such as clocks and remote controls. Hybrid batteries perform especially well in low temperatures - as low as -10°C - making them ideal for outdoor use in winter as well as in high temperatures during the summer.Hybrid batteries can be used in any standard battery charger with a charge time of 1 hour or more, but it is not recommended to charge the batteries in a 30-minute or 15-minute charger as this could affect the battery performance. The following additional Hybrid batteries are also available:Order Code: N46CY - Hybrid AA 4-Pack 2100mAhOrder Code: N47CY - Hybrid AAA 4-Pack 800mAhPlease note: the charge times below are applicable to both standard re-chargeable batteries and Hybrid rechargeable batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's excellent. It took me a second to work out how to adapt it to suit both sizes of battery, but it's pretty simple. My only concern is that the LED which indicates which side is being charged (front or back) doesn't change when the battery is charged. The user has to keep the guide printed on the packaging in order to work out how long various batteries take to charge. I've employed a rubber band in an attempt to keep the vital info together with the charger.

Will the unit work on 110 volt supplies ?

No sorry this is designed for 240V, if you were to use this on 110V you would need a voltage converter.

The description says the charger will charge 2 or 4 batteries at once, but the picture shows only room for 2 batteries. How is this done?

The charger accepts 4 batteries, 2 on the reverse of the plug in the picture.
