Being able to get yourself moving when suffering a flat battery or even a flat tyre is always important. Keeping this all-in-one car emergency unit charged and in the boot of your car will save you time and money and prove its worth on countless occasions.

Its 12V 12AH battery will provide a starting power of 500 amps should you need a jump start. With a 150 PSI digital air compressor you can inflate your tyres on the go and the seven LED built-in light means that you can do this day or night. The housing is made of a high impact rubberised material for a safe and secure grip.

You can use either the 12V output socket or the USB port to charge or power your devices, and the LED indicator and reverse polarity indicator means that you will always know how much power remains in the jump starter and ensures that you don't wire it up the wrong way. Built-in overload protection stops the battery from discharging too quickly and cut-off protection prevents over charging.

Note:
To achieve the best performance, your jump starter must be fully charged before initial use and then fully charged again after use.
This product must be charged a minimum of every two months to maintain the condition of the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a very well built piece of kit. I haven't tried the compressor as I haven't needed it, but everything else works well. The light could be very useful. The jump start was enough to start my car (admittedly only a 1.1l petrol, but still) when it wasn't turning over at all. I connected it as per the instructions, left it for about 10 minutes and it started first time. It apparently needs to be recharged every few months, but it can be charged while the car is running from the 12 socket with the included lead. Seems to be good value for money compared to other similarly priced units with lower power capacity. It's rather large and heavy, but for me that's not an issue at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought as an emergency when stranded on my scooter, started my scooter straight out of the box due to small 125cc engine, without having to charge initially, so got me out of a sticky situation. (The batt level was green though) Very handy to have light, USB and 2x 12v sockets. The compressor requires a full battery and charging disconnected to operate and have to use the rotary main switch on as which is confusing, why not use only 1 switch. Bit bulky as didn't fit under my scooter seat and would like a lower fatter vs taller profile, so had to squeeze between my legs on my way home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this as my car battery was completely flat. I read reviews for a few of these things and every one of them have a few disgruntled people, it just must be the way things go, I found it near perfect, the only problem is that the instructions are a bit scant, but it's not that difficult to work and started my car first time. And second time when the week after the battery was dead again (my own fault). Not tried the compressor, but I didn't buy it for that, what's good is that you can connect it up to the 12v supply of your car (once started) to charge the battery up again. Not sure I like the fact that I have to top up charge it every two months whether I use it or not. Still it's good to have for the next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought it due to flat battery (and when I say flat I mean: absolutely flat), great price, free delivery, came two days after ordering and after an overnight charge it started my car first time. Excellent! Haven't tried the compressor yet though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Compressor poor I bought this to keep slow punctures at bay to replace the previous Maplin orange coloured equivalent that died after about 18 months replaced once but very accurate. I can't work with the tiny dials where 33psi is about 3mm so needed a digital display. The first one showed my 30psi tyre as 47.5psi and I couldn't get it to add air. I had it replaced in store but the new one is still 5psi out. I'm disappointed that something costing the best part of £60 is so shoddily made

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good experience I've just had a bad experience of this product with Maplins. The first one that was sent out didn't have an adapter with it which was the first problem. The second one that was sent to replace the first had Spanish language labelling on the product, rattled when shook and had missing internal parts such as the LED lights and power input port. When I asked about this on the phone and in store nobody could explain why such a defective version of the product was sent. To make matters worse, the product didn't start the car. In my view, you are better off doing car to car jump starting than trying with this product. If you do order it, make sure you've got the adapter with it and make sure you're not getting the Spanish dodgy version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Value for Money I bought this jumpstarter in September 2013 and, so far, I've only used the Air Compressor to keep my tyres topped up. It's now January 2016 and I'm having to charge it for the first time! It's not too big or heavy as I have a Mini so minimal boot space and you get an AC/DC charger and in car charger with it. There's also a built in LED light and USB socket for emergency use. Great product, great value, as always from Maplin ❤️

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Piece of Kit After a 12 day holiday my beloved Golf mk2 GTI battery was a pancake. Ordered on line and picked up in store ( Charlton) . Out of box and without any charging a first time start . Dont care too much about other features as long as it jump starts the Golf evry weekend if needed. Brilliant

My Battery is 800 CCA for a 2.7 litre Diesel engine can this jump starter do the job

Asked by: hadza20032002
The Battery you have is capable of giving 800CCA to start the engine. The 500CCA jump starter can only provide 62.5% of the cold cranking amps when compared to the battery you have so this may not be enough to usefully start the engine.

would this be ok for a 3.2 litre petrol engine

Asked by: big t
It would depend on the CCA rating of the specific engine in question. This should be listed in the owners manual and is sometimes stamped on the original battery. This will output a maximum of 500A so would not start engines with a higher CCA than this. Please be aware, age and condition can increase the CCA required.
