Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lead Free Solder I ordered some lead free solder and when it turned up it was actually lead free solder. This is groundbreaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does very a good job with my Antex 15watt soldering iron, easy to hold and use. Works well on wiring and breadboards.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not fit for purpose Takes several seconds to melt even on a 450 degree iron, temp verified with laser thermometer. Same result with another one bought several months earlier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful size of solder and availability Not unusually, could not find any of the 3 or 4 solder spools that I know are somewhere hiding around the house to complete a small but urgent job. So easy enough to order online and be able to collect it a few minutes later

Admittedly I am looking to buy this as a source of tin, but here goes. Do you know what temperature the flux will burn off at, as I wish to melt this down for tin ingots.

Asked by: Big Bob McNulty
I am sorry but the manufacturer has not provided this specification.

I bought this solder along with a brand new 25w iron. Does the solder need some extra flux or something? The iron is really struggling to melt it and it just does not seem to want to stick.

Asked by: johnmccisme
No this should work fine.

What is the weight of solder in this tube and how many soldering does it provide in average?

Asked by: francois
14 grams ... it's impossible to suggest number of uses as it completely dependent on the type of work being undertaken and the dexterity/skill of the user.
