Is this bulb suitable for what I need?
This bulb has a B22 fitting, which is the most common of the Bayonet Cap fittings. These are often referred to as push and twist bulbs and are most frequently used in ceiling fittings in the UK.
Its A60/ GLS (General Lamp Shape) design makes it an ideal direct replacement for any classic globe bulb, which are regularly found in standard light fittings.
Providing a huge 200-degree beam angle, in a soft warm white colour, this bulb is ideal for completely lighting up your whole living area, in a bedroom, lounge or dining room. It provides a yellowish light which is closer to the more traditional bulbs making it a popular choice for lighting around the home. 2,700K is close to a standard filament bulb colour temperature.
This is a non-dimmable bulb, and must be used in a non-dimmable circuit. If you install this bulb into a circuit which is dimmable it may cause issues, even if you do not intend to use the dimming function.

What are the benefits of LED over traditional bulbs in my home?
LED bulbs offer huge reductions in energy consumption compared to their traditional equivalent, lowering your electricity bill by up to 90 per cent while producing a very similar lighting effect. LED bulbs are much more efficient, which makes them cooler to the touch, and so are a much safer alternative for lamps which younger children may come into contact with.
LEDs last up to ten times longer than their halogen equivalent, and between four and 40 times longer than other traditional products, and they produce consistent light output throughout the entirety of their life. This means that you won’t have to replace your bulbs anywhere near as often as you would with traditional household bulbs.
LED bulbs do not contain a filament which could be damaged, making them an extremely stable light source. LED bulbs provide instant light with no warm up time or visible flicker, just 100 per cent light from the moment you switch it on. LED bulbs will fit into your existing fittings, and can be combined with all other types of household bulbs, allowing you to replace your bulbs one at a time, to suit you. This saves you having to replace every bulb at once.

What are the benefits of LED over traditional bulbs for the environment?
LED bulbs dramatically reduce carbon emissions due to them converting up to 80% of the energy used into light, making them a brilliant choice not just for your pocket, but for the environment too. LED bulbs contain no harmful chemicals, which makes them safer to use and allows them to be disposed of cheaply and safely with minimal environmental impact, compared to fluorescent fittings which require expensive safe disposal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for indoor use I bought this to fit into a lamp fitting by my back door to aviod needing to fit a separate movement sensor or change the fitting for one. Though very easy to fit as it simply replaces the original bulb the weather proof cover stops the sensor working even though it is transparent. Refitted inside the house on the stairwell to my basement as the light switch is hard to access and it works fantastic detects movement on the stairs and lights up. So good unit but must not have any sort of cover or shade over the bulb which limits it to indoor use. Light is comaparable to a conventional 40W bulb and has a gentle fade off feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but light stays on too long I bought this a month ago, so I cannot comment on the product life. These are used indoors at the top and bottom of the staircase and pickup movement from 1.8m away - of course this is based on the detection-angle in relation to the placement-height of the bulb - which is adequate even when walking fast. I have two issues regarding this light bulb: (1) It only comes in 2700K warm light (yellowish), however I would have preferred a choice of 4000K Cool light. (2) The light bulb stays on for a very long 80 seconds after the last movement was detected. Despite the energy saving of LED, we should still not waste any energy. For hallway use, 10 seconds is long enough. This particular version may be more suited to living rooms and bedrooms.

The box for this product says it features a motion sensor, how long does the bulb stay on for after detecting motion?

Asked by: Ryan
Based on the two that I purchased, I timed them to remain on for approximately 80 seconds, which to me is too long.

We just bought this lightbulb today and there is a problem with it. The sensor goes off very easily and will not switch off for a long time... is there a fault?
