Maplin Micro is a USB2.0 HDMI media player adapter.

With the Maplin Micro Player Adapter you can just plug and play with USB storage devices* and play your favourite media files directly to a TV via HDMI or composite port.

The player adapter also has a card reader which supports SD/MS/MMC and SDHC cards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an EXCELLENT device So far it has played every video format I threw at it. The Menu system is easy to use and more importantly perhaps, read on screen. I have tried it with 3 different makes of external USB hard drives with no problems. You can attach an external USB Hard drive containing even highly compressed video files and it performs brilliantly. The 'upscaling' circuitry works very well on compressed video files, often resulting in them appearing in or near DVD quality even on large TV screens. My TV has a USB port, so I could compare the quality of my compressed videos played directly to it, and then via the Adapter. The Media Player Adapter results were little short of amazing, with an increase in video quality that I still find hard to believe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not function as stated After several hours , various USB drives and sticks , various formats of audio and video files tried returned to store for refund, purchased a simlar device from another company and had working in under 10 minutes. Slow and intermittent remote control, randomly crashed , could not display USB drive folders.
