Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish! I bought one of these today to connect my 2015 Macbook Air to a new 40" Sony Bravia HD TV. I got a picture on the TV for about 5 seconds and then it just flicked off. I tried this using 2 separate HDMI cables to confirm the problem was definitely with the adapter. If you look in System Preferences on your Mac, you won't even get an option for the secondary display most of the time - like the adapter isn't even recognised. Really annoyed as it's not even one of the cheapo adapters and needs a separate HDMI cable too. I'll be returning this to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked perfectly on my Macbook Pro I dropped my MacBook Pro (2010) and the screen smashed, I found that I could use this cable to plug in to my LCD tv via HDMI. All I had to do was plug this cable in, then plug a HDMI in to the other end and boot my MacBook Pro then immediately close the lid. This then displayed my Macbook on my LCd tv. I was able to recover my files and am awaiting for a new screen to repair it.

Hi would be OK for my iPad 2 to hdmi so I could watch films from pad to to?

Asked by: Holly1234
No this item will not fit. You need to look for something like apple TV or if your iPad has the 30pin connector then you can get AV to 30pin adaptors - but they're not HDMI. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/apple-composite-av-cable-a88lq

On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

The HDMI sound option does not show up in my sound setting, can you advise why?

Asked by: Sharon
HDMI can carry audio, but DVI (Minidisplay) doesn't.

I am getting video but no audio through to my TV, using a mid 2009 Macbook Pro 10.8.5 OS. I have tested the TV with the same HDMI cable on a 2014 Macbook Pro that has a HDMI port and it works fine. what should I do?

Asked by: Giovanni
