Rated 3 out of 5 by from Purchased one today, i can't charge more that 4 batteries at the same time, if you insert 5 or 6 AA's, all ten leds flash orange and unit does not charge, looks like an overload error. I will return the product tomorrow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from As a previous review states, the batteries get VERY hot. This is because it charges at a rate that very few batteries can accept. Better products available for less so I would recommend avoiding this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing. Similar issues as with other buyers. The wrapper of the batteries comes off at times (faulty batteries or charger??). Both products are Maplin, so who knows. Would not buy again. Unreliable and battery wrapper coming off due to battery expansion is a concern.

The manual doesn't tell you if there are restrictions on where certain types of battery can be charged or not. For example, the 2 central compartments look like they are for taking large batteries, but could you put AA or AA batteries there?
