Rated 3 out of 5 by from Based on what I can see this unit is timer based. I.E. when it detects the battery size is AAA and the switch is set to NIMH, it times down 8 hours and then the charge light goes out. Charge level is not based on current detection. This is OK if your batteries are fully discharged when you place them in the charger, but is concerning if you if you put in a 70% battery for a top charge only. This might explain why another reviewer said the batteries never seem to fully charge. If you unplug it lets say at night, then the 8 hours begins again each time you plug it in. Also 9V batteries must be timed manually (10-15hrs), light does not go out to indicate full charge. Does the job, but I would not be concerned about leaving it unattended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Never seems to actually charge the batteries, takes forever.. Have taken to removing them from this one and finishing the charging in a smaller fast charger.

Asked by: Aluks
Given that the charger has 4 charging receptacles and they will all accept cells up to D size the answer would be 4.

Can this charger give Panasonic Eneloop Pro NiMH AA cells their full charge of 2450mAH? I have been told that only delta peak voltage cutoff can do this, although the heating causes some risk to battery life.
