What advantages does this mouse have?
There’s no need for wires with this full sized, smart dark grey wireless mouse that’s simple and easy to use. Great for everyday use the mouse measures 95mm x 58.8mm x 30mm and has three buttons including a metallic scroll wheel for easy and quick navigation in documents and on the web. It is also symmetrical so it’s suitable for both right and left-handed users.

Is this mouse plug and play?
This wireless mouse works by plugging the nano USB receiver into a USB socket and with its compact size it won’t be easily knocked out. When you’ve finished using your mouse you can even leave it in the port for the next time. Compatible with Window 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, the mouse runs off two AAA batteries which are included.

What is BlueTrace?
The BlueTrace LED sensor ensures a smooth and precise tracking for the mouse and can be used on almost any surface. It works using the blue LED beam with an image sensor and pixel geometry to build a high contrast picture of most surfaces.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I bought this from a maplin shop yesterday and it is the worst mouse I have owned. It only works when it feels like it so you end up spending spending ages moving the mouse all over your desktop just to get it to move 1cm on the screen, and then, when it finally decides to work, it moves far more than you wanted it to, stops working again and you spend another 5 minutes trying to click whatever you wanted to. As an example it's just took me about 15 minutes to find the maplin website and write this review. The scrollwheell and buttons aren't any better either. I have to click everything at least 10 times to get it to do anything and the scrollwheel only works when occasionally.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from In terms of ergonomy, this mouse is very nice - glossy sides are nice to hold, buttons well positioned/curved and the scroll bar, with a rubber strip in the middle, also easy to use. 5* here. Aesthetically it also looks very well and the USB dongle is tiny and can be plugged into the mouse for transportation. The driver installed automatically with no problems either. However, there is a problem with click registration. 1 in 10 quick single clicks causes no action. All slower clicks work fine. The first mouse I bought had this problem and I returned back to the shop but the second mouse behaved only slightly better. And on my laptop I used 4 other (wired) mouses with no problems. This looks a bit like a decoupling capacitor problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not great. Picked one of these up yesterday in store - wasn't time to investigate the website. Big mistake, as other users have reported, it can be frustrating - clicks not registering, mouse not moving, scroll not working etc etc. This has turned out to be a signal failure - moving the mouse closer to the receiver improves performance 100x. To make this practical, i've had to place the receiver in the end of a USB extension cable, making buying a wireless mouse completely pointless. Try harder Maplin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This mouse is very good because batteries last long on it, so you don't have to change the batteries as often (as my previous wireless mouse). The signal never breaks up and is always highly responsive and precise. Also the design and feel is great. I especially like the metallic scroll wheel, and the smooth hole going through from one side of the mouse to the other.

Does the wheel act as the 3rd button and is it programmable (ie for double click or other functions)?

Asked by: Reg29
It would only be usable as a scroll wheel.
